This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client imported glossary entries successfully but later could only see a fraction of these entries when trying to edit them. Despite expecting to see all 396 entries, only 5 were visible.

Solution:
We recommend the following steps if you're experiencing similar issues:
1) Ensure to take a full backup of your site and database. It's best to perform these steps on a development or staging site first.
2) Deactivate all plugins except for WPML and String Translation.
3) Switch to a standard theme, such as 2024 or 2021.
4) Check if the glossary entries are visible. If not, attempt to re-import the CSV file, making sure to check “Overwrite existing terms” during the import and ensure the "kind" column only contains the value "name" (Reference Errata).
4.1) If the issue persists, stop here and do not proceed further.
5) If the entries are visible, begin reactivating plugins one by one, checking after each to see if the issue reoccurs. This will help identify any plugin conflicts.
6) If after reactivating all plugins the entries are still visible, switch back to your original theme to check if it causes the issue.

If these steps do not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I imported glossary entries and it worked smoothly. Now, I wanted to edit a glossary entry but can only see a fraction of the existing entries. I expected to see all 396 entries in the glossary and be able to edit them.

Symptoms:
I expected to see all 396 entries in the glossary. Instead, I got 5 entries shown in the glossary.

Questions:
Why are only 5 entries shown in the glossary instead of 396?
How can I view and edit all 396 glossary entries?

Hi,

Reference to our recent discussion, I've moved to this ticket and 'll follow up here.

I created a new sandbox site at hidden link (one-click login) and then tried your shared CSV file.

The original file was failed to import.

So I tried the workaround from this errata. You'll see your shared file fixed as well (i.e. "kind" column has "name" as values). And this worked perfectly fine, please watch my hidden link">screen-recording.

I suspect there's something breaking or causing a conflict in your site. Can you please try the following?

1) Take a full backup of your site and database before proceeding. It is highly advised to try these on a dev or staging site first, so your live site isn't compromised.
2) Deactivate all plugins except WPML and String Translation.
3) Switch to a standard theme like 2024 or 2021.
4) Check if you can see the glossary entries? If not, then try to reimport, ensuring “Overwrite existing terms” is checked during import. As well as, the "kind" column has "name" as value only.
4.1) If this still does not work fine, then stop here. Otherwise continue to the following steps, to identify what's breaking it.
5) Start activating plugins one by one while keep checking for the issue. This way you 'll be able to pinpoint a conflict when & where it starts creating the problem.
6) If after activating all plugins you see that it still works fine, then switch to your theme and see if that's causing it.

Please let me know your findings and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.

Regards.

I deactivated all plugins, used a different theme and performed an import. Step by step, plugins and the custom theme were activated to find a source of error. However, there was no trigger that restricted the glossary again.

Re-importing the .csv table was enough to display the entries again.

Many thanks for the reliable and fast support!
