Background of the issue:
I am trying to download and install the latest version of the WPML plugin from the WordPress admin page. The issue can be seen at: hidden link

Symptoms:
I am not able to download and update the plugin. Instead of downloading and installing, I got a 'Failure' message.

Questions:
Why am I unable to download and install the latest version of the plugin?
What could be causing the failure message during the update process?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. This issue usually happens when the WPML is not registered properly somehow. Could you please delete the existing site key and create a new one by following the below steps:

1. Please login to your WPML.org account >> Go to the Sites page: https://wpml.org/account/sites/
2. Delete the existing site key (if it exists).
3. Please login to your site and go to the Dashboard >> Plugins >> Add new plugin > Commercial tab and click the Unregister WPML from this site link if that link exists.
4. Then please click the Register WPML link.
5. Click the Get a key for this site link.
6. It will generate the Key for your site.
7. Copy the key, and paste it back into the input box, and press the Register button.
8. Then, please take a backup of your site and update WPML plugins to the latest version.

Kindly let me know the results,

these were the first steps I did reading the documentation, I was expecting some more effective answer, it is still not working. As you can see in the screenshot

As we can see in the screenshot errorWPML3 and errorWPML3, I removed all plugin, download last version, installed but there is this weird message asking to share credit as it was a staging website, but there isn't.

Thank you for the update. It looks like you’ve managed to update the WPML plugins now, that’s great.

For the “WPML detected a new address for this site” problem, it’s a different issue and will be handled separately as per our support policy. I've created a new ticket for this at: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-wpml-detected-a-new-address-for-this-site/

If the plugin update issue is solved, please mark this ticket as resolved and we will continue working on the above ticket for it.
