Background of the issue:
The primary language of my site medellindecerca.com is Spanish. The English version is set to be published in the medellinupclose.com domain. I am trying to ensure that internal links on the English domain correctly point to the English pages.

Symptoms:
There are issues with many internal links in the English domain, because they open the Spanish site's pages.

Questions:
How can I fix the internal links in the English domain so they point to the correct English pages?

Hi,

Welcome to WPML support. Would you please give us examples of the links that are not targeting?

Also, if you go to WPML > Languages and click the Save button for the different domain mode while the Validate option is checked, does it show Validated or invalid?

If Invalid, you need to make sure that you set the domains correctly:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

Thanks.

Hello.

I went to WPML > Languages, did what you instructed and the message was "Validated".

One example: if you stay in this page hidden link and hit any link in the footer, you will be taken to the Spanish website medellindecerca.com

Hi,

Thanks, would you please follow the steps below?

- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Settings >Translate Link Targets".
- Click the "Scan now and adjust links" button and wait for the process to finish.

After that, please make a small change to the Divi layout that you used for the footer and then send it for the translation again:

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/

If the issue persists, please check if the same thing happens on a minimal installation:

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except WPML and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.

Finally, if you still have the issue, please create a copy of the website and give us the login information by setting the next reply as private. So we can troubleshoot without having a fear of breaking a live website.

Thanks.
