We are having a problem with the translations on this site. We use WPML with Jet engine often and haven't seen this issue before. Actually, when we initially installed WPML we got a message about an error and it asked us to reset the translations, I have added a screenshot of this for reference, we did that and the alert was gone but we were still having problems.
We have tried a full reset and complete uninstall and reinstall but there still seems to be an issue with the translations working correctly.

The problems we are seeing are mostly with custom post types, the post types are added to the WPML settings and when you translate the post in the advance translator it shows all the relevant fields. But when you look at the translated fields you do not see any of the content, and if you switch to the English side (Spanish native site) on the custom post type all of the fields are empty, only in the advanced translstion editor itself can you see the translations.

Also, there is an error with listings not showing the content on the translated page, the queries for the listings work correctly because I can see the filtered posts in the preview in query builder but on the live page the content says not found.

There have been some other strange things like the category field which pulls from a glossary, was showing the English option on the spanish page and the spanish option on the english page. I went into string translation and changed the original to be set as Spanish which fixed this, but it seems it is a sign of a bigger configuration issue.

Please let me know what you need from me to look into the problem. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I’d be happy to assist you with this issue.

Access to the environment where the issue occurs would be very helpful in investigating the reported problem.
Would it be possible to provide us with access to an environment where the issue can be reproduced (preferably a non-production environment with the smallest possible amount of data)? This would allow us to create a copy where we can replicate the issue and look for a solution.

Additionally, it would be very helpful to have:

* a scenario describing how to reproduce the issue in the prepared environment (for which item it occurs),
* information on whether it is possible to create a new item that would reproduce the issue in the current configuration (i.e., whether the problem is reproducible for new items).

I look forward to your reply. Thank you and best regards.

Hi, can we get some kind of update on this on the progress you have made please? We are now 2 weeks later and we have nothing, I am concerned that this isnt actively being looked into as it has taken so long at this point.

Hello,

I’m very sorry for the delay in resolving your issue. I wanted to identify any possible cause, but the configuration and behavior of the objects “on their own” appear correct, so I started looking deeper. I deactivated unnecessary plugins, simplified the scenario, and the problem still occurs. I am now investigating the code itself to pinpoint where the conversion did not happen, so that the system can correctly locate the translated objects for translation.

Please allow me one more day to try and identify the root cause within the code.

Kind regards,
Pawel

Pawel, I think at this point this needs to be escalated to a manager. Its been 5 days since you asked for one more day and I still don't even have an update.

Hello,

I sincerely apologize for the long wait, but I believe we’ve found a solution to your issue.

1. Go to WPML > Settings > Custom Fields Translation (you can access this from the top navigation bar - being on the "WPML > Settings" page).

2. In the Custom Fields Translation section:

- Make sure Show system fields is checked - without this, you won’t see the necessary elements (you should see the label “Hide system fields”).
- Use the search box Search for: to find the following fields:

* `_listing_data`
* `_query_id`
* `_listing_type`
* For each field, set it individually to Copy and save the changes.

3. Now we need to regenerate the translations to apply the changes:

* The easiest way is to visit the URL: `wp-admin/post.php?post=11782&action=edit&lang=en` - a popup should appear allowing you to run ATE. Just open it and save.

Once again, I apologize for the delay, and I hope this resolves your issue. I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Best regards,
Paweł

Hi Pawel,

I did the settings you suggested above and updated translations but im still not seeing the listing on the category pages. I can see on the staging site you have access to there are some products showing on the English language side so something has changed on there that hasnt on the live site.

Are there any other changes you made that could be missing on the live site?

Hello,

I’ve just restored the backup from the start of the report and went through all the mentioned steps - I can confirm that everything is working.

It’s important to re-translate the “Catalogue Products”, as previous changes will only apply to items created or edited after those updates.

If there are still issues on the production environment, I would kindly ask for a staging environment based on it so I can investigate the root cause.

I look forward to your feedback.

Best regards,
Pawel
