Tell us what you are trying to do?
Hi, I am trying to link the menu logo to the home page for all the translated versions. At the moment, when I'm on ex. Italian and I select the menu logo, it takes me to the English version.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
No
Is there a similar example that we can see?
No that I know of
What is the link to your site? hidden link

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support, I will be happy to help you.
I noticed from the debug info that you are using DIVI theme, could you please check the following steps:

- Go to Divi-> Divi Library
- Switch the language to Italian from wp-admin top bar
- Edit the Global Header
- Edit the Menu module
- Change the link of the logo
- Save the template and clear the cache

After, please check if the issue persists and let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Marsel

Hi, thank you. Unfortunately we don't have global headers for each of our languages? I've attached a screenshot. I fear if I go into the live site editor to link the headers manually, it will affect each translation. How do you advise? Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for the update.

Could you please tell me how are you adding the header to the website and how are you translating that section?

* I would suggest you check our documentation on how to translate websites with DIVI page builder: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/

---

It might not be related to the issue, but according to your debug.info, the WP memory limit needs to be increased, WordPress uses 40Mb as default and the minimum requirements for WPML are 128 MB. (Kindly check this page: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/)

You can increase it by adding the following code in your wp-config.php file right before the line: /* That's all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */

/* Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

---

Also, from the debug info I noticed that you are using WPML 4.6.8, I would suggest you update to the latest version (please update even the WPML addon plugin)

* Note: Please make sure you have a full backup of your website before making any update/changes on your website.

In order to prevent any possible damage on the live website, I might suggest you set up a staging site.

Let me know if you have any question,
Marsel

Hi, currently the menu is three different modules - the logo (image), the menu (code), and the button module. I'm thinking.. we should probably create a global header for each language ?

In case that the content of the header is the same through the whole website, having a global header would be easier to manage.

You create the global header in the default language (with all the modules that you are using) and then you can easily translate it by following the guide here: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer

Okay thank you. So we are going to replace the menu plugin with a megamenu solution. We are just busy experimenting with different plugins at the moment before we replace the current menu. Do you think it's worth holding off with building a new menu section until we've done the menu ?

That decision would be up to your workflow, you can keep experimenting with plugins for the menu till you are set with what you are looking for. After, set up the global header and proceed with the translation of it. That would be totally fine.

Also. please do not forget to increase the WP MEMORY LIMIT, and to update the WPML plugins.

Let me know if you have further questions.
