This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
I am attempting to translate the main page into multiple languages using the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE). However, the same text is displayed multiple times in the ATE while it's only copied once in the original language.
Solution:
1. Advised increasing WP memory limit and updating WPML plugins.
2. Recommended checking if the duplicated texts exist in the actual content or only within ATE.
3. Suggested editing the original language page, making a small change, and updating the translation to refresh the database entry.
4. Explained the possibility of various reasons causing this behavior and suggested steps to resolve the issue, including finishing translations and making changes to the original content.

I am trying to translate the main page to several languages. This is the link to the main page: hidden link I'm using the ATE but the same text is shown several times but in the original language is only copied once. What should be done? |

Hello, 1.- The segments shown in the screenshot are different and there are no duplicated texts. 2.- Please increase the WP memory Limit. Minimum requirements are 128Mb: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
/* Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
- Add it above the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ You can double-check the WordPress memory limit in WPML -> Support 3.- Don't forget to update the WPML plugins in Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab. Regards, |

Hi Carlos, 1. You were right that arrows where pointing to different text. Please check new pictures attached where it shows same text duplicated several times. 2. Done. NO change. 3. this is pretty standard replay. The plugins and hole web is up to date. Does not the debug info provide that kind of data? 4. Additional issue: on the french translation, duplicated text was automatically filled by your ATE but I can save it since it says it's not completed. I need a fix asap to publish the updated pages. This should be something pretty straightforward where your plugin should do as expected. Please provide a fix. |

Hi there, 1.- Once you translate one of the texts (segments) if there are any other exact texts (segments) they will be automatically translated. Based on the screenshots I don't know if these texts are duplicated on ATE or are just duplicated on the content of the page and ATE is just reflecting that. I would recommend to follow these steps: 2.- As described in my previous message, increasing the WordPress memory limit is a minimum requirement for WPML so there is nothing to expect specifically about it. 3.- The debug information shows that the WPML version installed on your site is v4.6.5 and the latest WPML version is v4.6.7. That's the reason why I asked you to update the WPML plugins providing the exact steps to follow. 4.- You need to save each segment in ATE before you can save the whole translation. |

Hi Carlos, In my original description I already stated the following: "I'm using the ATE but the same text is shown several times but in the original language is only copied once." Have you take a look at the url provided? There you will see how the text is only copied once but your ATE keeps showing it twice. This is going really slow. Why don't you ask for access to the site and you take a look at it by yourself? The ATE is duplicating the text when in the main original language there is NO duplication. |

Hi there, I'm trying to see where the issue is based on your messages, however, the phrase "I'm using the ATE but the same text is shown several times but in the original language is only copied once." doesn't match with any of the screenshots you shared. Maybe we are just having a communication issue. Is there any other language that you could speak, like Catalan or Spanish? |

Sorry if explanations are not clear enough. 1. Please take a look at our main page bottom text: hidden link 2. I've shared 6 screenshots of the hole page shown by the ATE translation to French. At screenshots 4, 5 and 6 you will see how the ATE repeats the same text to translate when in the main page it is not repeated. Do you see it the same way I do? |

Thank you for this message. Now I fully understand the problem. This behavior can be caused by a variety of reasons, including changes in the structure of the page in the original language, switching between the default WordPress editor to Elementor or Gutenberg (or any other visual builder), switching between manual translation and CTE or ATE, corruption in the database, outdated content still saved on the entry of the page in the original language, etc. In order to solve this behavior I recommend you to: Could you tell me the results of the steps described above? |

I've followed the steps you mentioned for the english translation: I repeated the text translated and save it. Now the english version is fully translated but text is shown only once. Then I did a small change on the text in the original language, saved and now the ATE seems to have lost 30% of the translations (of the fake duplicated texts). See screenshoots. |

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it. Our Debugging Procedures I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to back up the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site. |

Thank you for sharing the credentials requested. I updated the WPML plugins as described in one of my previous messages, then followed the same steps as mentioned here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-ate-shows-the-same-texts-to-be-translated-several-times/#post-14915801 and the issue disappeared in the English translation. Please update the French translation (you will have to finish the translation) and the problem will be solved. Note: You can automatically translate your content following the steps described in this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/ and therefore avoid these issues. Regards, |
