Hey there,

This message appears when you try to edit a translation that was created using the WPML Translation Editor with the WordPress Editor (or another page builder).

If you want to make changes to the translated page using the WordPress editor or a page builder, you need to enable this option, as explained here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Please let me know if this answers your question.

Best regards,

Hey Lucas, how are you? I already found this link but it doesn't change anything. My original page is already set to "WordPress Editor" but the alert still pops up.

Is there something else to try? Thanks

Hey there,

I'm fine 🙂 Thanks for asking.

This behavior is actually unexpected.

I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.

The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.

I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

FYI it does the same thing on regular pages even though "Wordpress Editor" is selected in the "Translations" panel on these pages.

Hey there,

I was able to remove the notice by reapplying the WordPress Editor option globally. You shouldn't receive any more notices. This ticket will stay open for another 14 days, so you can let me know if you face the issue again. It should be solved.

I have the same problem on another site, where is this setting so that I can apply it as well? Is this a bug?

It seems to be specific to your website. I checked on a fresh install, and that didn't happen. To apply the settings globally, I created a test page, clicked on "WPML Editor" for translations and clicked on the option to use the WPML Editor on the entire website, in the pop-up that shows. Let me know if that works for you.
