I've installed the OTGS installer and installed the WPML plugin but when I open the setup page it's just blank. The configuration doesn't start so I can't even begin setting up anything.
I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.
The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.
I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.
IMPORTANT
Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
Ok, please let me know as soon as possible because it's not the first time I'm having trouble with WPML. I would like to know what's causing these problems so that I can prevent them in the future.
The issue is happening exclusively on your production website, not on local copies we created.
To be able to verify the issue and test solutions, I need you to please create a staging (testing) copy of your website on the same server, so I can check for causes and solutions without harming the live website.
You can use a plugin to achieve that, or reach out to your hosting support, ad they might be able to help you creating a staging website. Please send me the link to it here, when you are done. Thank you for the cooperation on this matter.
You can keep the same user you've already shared on staging, so I can access it directly.
The issue is not present on the staging website. There's something specific to your production website causing this. To be able to fix that, we'll need to do some more intrusive debugging on production. For us to proceed, I need two things from you:
1. First, that you make a full website backup and confirm that for us;
2. Ask your hosting support for Server PHP logs. This information might help us to find the cause of that;
Thanks for sharing. I've forwarded the shared information to our devs, they are checking for a solution. I'll keep you up to date. Thank you for your cooperation and patience so far 🙂
