Background of the issue:
I'm trying to translate a Custom Post Type (CPT) created with JetEngine on my site hidden link. I've followed the guides from JetEngine and WPML to translate CPT posts.

Symptoms:
I can translate each CPT post, but not the Custom Post Type 'Name'. For example, I want to translate the CPT 'Books' into 'Livres' in French, but it remains as 'books'.

Questions:
Is it possible to translate the Custom Post Type 'Name'?
What did I miss in the translation process for the CPT 'Name'?

Hi,

Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, I'd like to guide you through some initial debugging steps to speed up the support process.

Can you please try to follow the steps from this thread:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translate-cpt-label/#post-15201524 and see if this resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, please add the debug report in the Debug Information box. I have also enabled debug info box for your next reply: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

Please let us know the results,
Thank you

Thanks for your reply and following my issue.
I had a look at the links you mentioned and I tried to debug my issue with the steps provided. But it doesn't seem to work.
Anyway, I changed my strategy and stopped using the direct CPT Name in my website layouts. So I kind of work around the issue.
BUT, that said, I still have issues with CPT.

1. For one of my CPT I still can't activate translation of "description" (WYISWYG) meta field
- JetEngine CPT MetaBox config : hidden link
- WPML Custom Fields Translation : hidden link

So I can't display the description field in my single page :

2. For the same CPT, I can't copy two Custom Fields (switcher) "show_rent_price" and "show_sell_price"
-JetEngine CPT MetaBox config : hidden link
- WPML Custom Fields Translation : hidden link

So my translated single page for this CPT is not fully translated and is missing information : hidden link

Ok I have found out how to Create a different Elementor Template using this guide : https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/creating-different-elementor-templates-per-language-with-wpml/

So Issue #2 is resolved.
But I still have issues with CPT "description" meta field (WYSIWYG) that can't be translated (or copied) because I can't find it in WPML Custom Fields Translation settings (Where I could find all other custom fields of my CPT, but not the WYSIWYG text field).

Hello There!
I hope you're doing well!

I've taken over this ticket and will be happy to assist you further.

I'm glad to hear one of the issues has been resolved!

Regarding the issue with translating JetEngine’s Meta field, it appears the naming convention of the Custom field is causing it not to appear in the Custom Field Translation list. Instead of placing an underscore at the beginning of the field name, try adding it after the name along with some additional text. For example, you could rename it to 'description_je' or something similar, then save the configuration.

After making the changes, please follow these steps:

- Navigate to "WPML > Settings > Custom Field Translation" and click "Show System Fields".
- The page will refresh. In the Custom Field Translation search box, enter the name of the field.
- If the field appears in the results, set the translation preference for it to "Translate" or as per your requirements, then save the changes.

II hope the steps above will help to solve the field translation issue. However, if you need further assistance or need clarification regarding any particular step, feel free to reach out. I'll be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hello, thanks for your reply. It seems to be working now. Thanks a lot for your help and time taken !

I still have another issue (I think it's the last issue I have to finish the translation of my website to 100%).
My issue is about a Media Translation on my front page. I have installed and configured the Media Translation plugin. I already uploaded my translated files. But it doesn't show on my front page.
When I go to the English translated version of my homepage, it's still displaying the original file and note the translated media.

Please, can you help me and explain how I can force my home page to use translated media ? I don't want to manually edit the translated page with Elementor. I want to keep it synchronized with my original page and keep using WPML Translation management and auto translate features.

I followed the guide, and went to each step, but it couldn't work : https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

Hello There!
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.

I understand the other issue you mentioned. However, to maintain clarity in each support ticket, we can only address one issue per ticket. Since the other issue is different from the main one reported here, I've created a new ticket for you to discuss it separately.

A response will be sent to that ticket soon!

If the issue reported in this ticket has been resolved, please consider marking this thread as resolved.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
