This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to include the original links for site pages in the page-sitemap.xml on their website. While the post-sitemap.xml includes both URLs (original and translated), the page sitemap only includes the translated links. The client is using documentation from https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/optimize-multilingual-websites-using-rank-math-and-wpml/ to achieve this.

Solution:
We investigated and found that deactivating WPML and WPML SEO does not change the indexing issue, suggesting that WPML might not be the main cause. All pages are registered as if they were in French when WPML is deactivated, and Rank Math still does not add them to the sitemap. We recommend reaching out to Rank Math's support for further insights on this issue, as they might provide a solution specific to their plugin.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket with us for further assistance at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to include the original links for site pages in page-sitemap.xml on my website hidden link. Currently, the post-sitemap.xml includes both URLs (original and translated), but the page sitemap only includes the translated links. I am following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/optimize-multilingual-websites-using-rank-math-and-wpml/ to achieve this.

Symptoms:
The RankMath page sitemap only includes the translated links of my website pages, not the original links.

Questions:
How can I include the original links for site pages in page-sitemap.xml?
Why does the post-sitemap.xml include both URLs but not the page-sitemap.xml?

Hey there,

Thank you for sharing. I investigated the copy and found out the following:

1. You have 42 pages (21 for each language), and only 14 of them are being indexed;
2. Deactivating WPML, and WPML SEO makes no changes in that. When WPML is deactivaed, all pages are registered as if they were in French. Rank Math still don't add them to the sitemap.

You can check more details in the video:

Even though WPML might be involved, I don't think it's the main cause here, as deactivating it makes no difference on the number of indexed items on the site map. I'll keep this ticket open, and kindly ask you to reach out to Rank Math's support, to see if they have any insights on this issue.

Let me know what their answer is.
