Background of the issue:
I am trying to TRANSLATE PAGES from English to Arabic. I encountered an issue while approving translations for the following posts: My Members. The issue can be seen at the following links: hidden link - hidden link
Symptoms:
I am getting a failed approval for translations.
Questions:
How can I solve the error of failed approving translations for the post 'My Members'?
Would you please give me more information on what happens when you hit the review button?
In general, I suggest that you do as follows:
- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.
But if it continues please give me more information to know what is going on.
If the issue persists, I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.
Sorry for the late reply. We did some investigation on your website but unfortunately could not find what might be the cause of the problem.
This needs further investigation including:
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except WPML and its add-ons.
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.
I wonder if it is ok for you to do the test on a staging/copy version of your website.
If not, I wonder if we have permission to copy your website to our server for further investigation.
