This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing random crashes with a 500 error page when browsing their site in English, with the main language being Latvian, after activating the 'Gift Cards For WooCommerce Pro' plugin by WP-Swings.
Solution:
We recommend trying the workaround provided in the following documentation: https://wpml.org/faq/why-is-htaccess-getting-overwritten-with-the-language-folder-on-my-wpml-website/. This involves adding code to the theme's

functions.php

file. It is important to back up the database before making any changes.

Jānis Anspaks

Hello,

I am not sure if this is WPML or the gift card plugin issue, but I have a problem after I activated my gift card plugin PRO version (Gift Cards For WooCommerce Pro (by WP-Swings)).
What happens is when this plugin is activated and I use my site in english (main language is latvian), then my site randomly crashes with the error page. By using my site I mean just browsing trough pages what you will be able to see in the screen recording. I have translated gift card product and gift card page both in english and latvian.
I have already reached out to the gift card plugin support, but so far they are not able to help me too much, because they demand an FTP connection with the hosting server which is not possible in my case.
So as this problem is somewhat related to languages, then maybe you can help me to solve this issue?

I have already checked the server logs and there is nothing when I get these 500 error pages.

Screen recording: hidden link

Thank you in advance

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Can you test the workaround using the link below? I think you might have this issue.

The code will need to be added to your theme’s functions.php file. Please backup your database before making any changes.
