This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to translate their site on a staging environment but encounters an issue when prompted to migrate automatic translation credits between the live and staging sites. Following the link results in an error page, preventing work on translations on the staging site.

Solution:
We understand that the notification about migrating credits appears because the Advanced Translation Editor detects a change in the Site URL due to site migration. To resolve this, we recommend using the migration code to link the live and staging sites. Detailed steps for this process can be found in our documentation:

If the provided solution is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket.

Translate my site on a staging environement

Is there any documentation that you are following?

What is the link to your site?

Hi there.

Before this ticket gets assigned to my colleagues, can you please elaborate a bit more on this matter?

Can you please explain what you are trying to accomplish, what are the exact steps that you are taking, what is not working and how would you expect to see things happening? Do you see any error messages? And if you do see error messages, can you please send us a copy of those?

Please let us know.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Hello, yes i understand this is not enough information.

I have a live site that needs to be translated : hidden link
I am working on a staging version of this site : hidden link

Both have wpml installed and registered with different keys.

When i go to the translation management of the staging site, i am prompted to migrate the credits.
"Let’s connect the automatic translation credits between the two copies of this site"

when i follow the link i get to an error page.
I cant work on the translations on the staging site.
Please see images.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the updates. Please note that you are getting this notification because of site migration. Because the Advanced Translation Editor detects the change in the Site URL. Please refer to the following documentation for more details.

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/#using-a-copy-of-your-site

So please use the migration code to link between the live and staging site as described in the following documentation and let us know your feedback.
