Hello, Thanks for contacting us. While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly. The one that has been mapped to FR-CA, would be translated to FR-CA if automatic translation was used. Other than that it would be difficult to say from our side. Client maybe used manual WPML translation or a translation agency and added FR-fr translation. Hope this helps. Regards, |

Hi, I can clarify this question. The screenshot that includes English with the language name "French" below it is the one in question. The second screenshot with the language name "French Canadian", is French Canadian because we confirmed with BLEND and WPML support that this was set and translated to French Canadian. I wanted to provide a French Canadian example so you could see the differences and why we wanted to ask. The one with language name "French" likely used automatic translation. When we received the site for maintenance, it did not have any translation services and was set to automatically translate all content. But we are not sure if the site was translated to French Canadian or France French or any other type of French. I see "Language Mapping" is set to French, Canada. But wanted to confirm. |

Hello, From what I understand ActionLink did not use BLEND or any translation service, correct? I can tell you that in 2024, many pages were at least partially translated using our automatic translation feature, probably using the free credits that came with the license or by using prepaid credits. They were used using the Microsoft Azure engine which is the only one that has Canadian French available, however I can't say if the quality is good or not, since all that part is handled by the translation engine directly. However since many of the pages seemed "reviewed" by a human, then I suspect that whoever reviewed it either "fixed" some words or accepted them as correct. That's as much as I can tell you right now about this, but if you have any specific question remaining from this statement, let me know and I'll try to find out. Regards. |

Hi Alejandro, Thank you for the information. Yes, ActionLink did not use BLEND or any translation service from what I see. The way the Language dashboard was left, it looked like it was using Automatic Translation. If it used a translation service, they must have disconnected it. The quality is fine, I understand there may be some difference between professionally translated vs. automatic. I just wanted to make sure that when the pages were sent for translation, that it was asked to be translated to French Canadian. It sounds like you were able to find out they used Microsoft Azure and that has Canadian French so that is a good sign. That is ideally what I was looking for. Yes, it could be that someone on the team reviewed the pages. I also would not be sure if they reviewed for quality of translation or just checking if the content was translated, but that is fine. If you have another information, please let me know. Otherwise, I think we can say that it was translated to Canadian French using Automatic Translation. I just want to confirm that it wasn't translated to France French or another version of French. |

Yes, from what I could see here those pages were translated using Canadian French coming from Microsoft Azure (The only one that has this language pair) and then they were manually reviewed or well they could've been partly translated manually. Apart from this the only thing i can tell you the following: - The action link site has been translated more or less constantly since its inception in 2024. - the content translated is not taking many credits, probably because they were translated in the past and the automatic translation is only charging for the new changes. - You seem to be using either prepaid credits or the gifted credits from each WPML renewal. I suggest you use Pay-As-You-Go to save some money on automatic translation. - You currently have 131473 credits available on your site I can't be sure if the translations were fully reviewed or not but they were initially translated using automatic translation and a person definitely accessed at least some of the pages and resaved the different segments which usually means that they were reviewed, in this context. If there's anything else you'd like to know, let me know and I'll gladly help you out. Regards, |
