Background of the issue:
I am trying to update the translation of an article using the WPML editor. After updating, I noticed that parts of the previously completed translation are missing and have reverted to the original language.

Symptoms:
The WPML editor shows parts of the translation in the original language, although the front end still appears translated.

Questions:
Why are parts of my translation reverting to the original language in the WPML editor?
How can I ensure that my translations remain consistent after updating an article?

Hi, and thanks for the access details.

I can access your site.

I'm sorry I forgot to ask how to see this problem.

1. Which post or page should I check?
2. What are the steps I need to take to trigger this problem?
(You mentioned that you changed some text/photos/hyperlinks using ACF fields. But please tell me exactly what to do.)

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hi,

So, I think any posts will display that issue. I just tried randomly on one of them, and the problem appeared (it was only on 2 sentences, but it was there).

You can see it in the video: hidden link

For the ACF fields I mentioned earlier, you will see them at the end of the video. They are meant to add some dynamic content to patterns that I add in the articles.

But it seems that just adding some basic text is enough to trigger the problem as per the video.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the video.
I can see that the problem occurs even without making any change to the original English post.
I've escalated this to our second-tier supporters and will keep you updated here on any news.

If needed, please allow me to take a copy of your site. For this, I must install a plugin such as Duplicator or All-in-One Migration. Please let me know if you agree.

Regards,
Itamar.

Thank you, Itamar.

Do you suggest that I pause all the translation until the problem is solved?

I would prefer to avoid having the site copied. But let me know when the time comes and we will advise at that moment.

Hi,

Until now, our second-tier supporter has not requested a copy of your site.

If it is an option for you, then hold on with the translations for now.

I'll keep you updated.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hello Itamar,

I apologize for the delay in my response. I had some internet issues that are now resolved.

I just tried, and it doesn't work.

I first opened an article that I had modified earlier, and that needed to have its translation updated. At first, it seemed fine.

I then changed something in the original article and opened the WPML editor after clearing the cache, and 10% of the translation went back to English.

Hello there!

1) Can you please confirm you were working on staging2.thedailypackers.com?

2) Could you please share the URL for that page that's in the screenshot? I want to understand why you still have the issue because it should've been fixed by now.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alejandro,

No, I was working on the live website, which is my working environment and where I have many translations waiting to be updated.

The URL for that page was: hidden link
As I said, when I first opened it without making any new changes, all the translations were there. However, after modifying one sentence and clearing the cache, when I went back into the WPML editor, some French translation had disappeared, and English was there instead.

Also, I didn't update the WPML plugin as it wasn't mentioned that a new version was available.

Hi,

Our team has resolved the issue, and the “flag for later” problem is now fixed. You can resend the jobs for translation — you should no longer encounter the issue, and will be able to translate and save the jobs without any problems.

Unfortunately, the issue with segments reverting to the original language is a separate problem, and our team is currently working on it.

In the meantime, the best we can do is offer some credits so you can move forward and re-translate the affected content. Since I’m not sure how many pages you need to re-translate, could you please provide an estimate? Once I have that, I’ll check with my team.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi Itama,

Thank you very much for the update. I am glad to hear that one issue has been resolved. I hope your team will find a quick solution to my other issue.

The articles I worked on that have the issues for sure are the 14th about Uruguay.

After that, I worked on Bolivia, but I didn't translate anything so far. I am waiting for all the Bolivia articles to be done to update them. In the hope that once translated, I won't have to make minor adjustments in them, therefore avoiding the issue.

Regards

Hi,

OK, thanks for updating me on the state of translations on your site.

I checked and could see that, as of today, your credit balance on hidden link for November was 173744. That means you used 173744 credits to translate the content on your site since November 1st, 2025. I cleared this debt. The balance is now zero (0) credits. If you keep using automatic translation on your site in November, at the end of the month, as a compensation from us, you'll be charged 173744 credits less.

We will keep you updated on any news regarding the escalated issue.

Regards,
Itamar.
