This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to switch your site from a development site to a production site on WPML and remove a production error message from the footer, but the message persists even after re-entering the site key and clearing the cache.
Solution:
We recommend re-registering your website. Please follow these steps:
1. Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites and remove your website from the list.
2. Add it again as a production site and copy the newly generated key.
3. In your website's admin panel, go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial Tab and click on "Unregister WPML from this site".
4. Register the website again with the key you copied in step #2.

This process should resolve the issue. If the problem persists or if this solution becomes outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to remove a production error message from the footer of my site, hidden link. The site is registered on wpml.org as a development site, and I want to switch it to a production site key. I have added it as a production site, cleared the cache, and re-entered the key.

Symptoms:
This site is registered on wpml.org as a development site. Switch to a production site key to remove this banner.

Questions:
How can I successfully switch my site from a development site to a production site on WPML?
Why is the production error message still appearing after I have re-entered the key and cleared the cache?

Hello there,

In this case, it's best to re-register the website. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to wpml.org/account/sites and remove the website from the list;
2. Add it again as production and copy the newly generated key;
3. In your website's admin panel, go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial Tab and click on "Unregister WPML from this site";
4. Register the website again, with the key you copied in step #2;

That should do the trick. Let me know how it goes.
