This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client's site becomes unresponsive immediately after activating WPML, despite multiple attempts and changing hosting providers. The error logs indicated a PHP fatal error due to maximum call stack size being reached, suggesting possible infinite recursion.
Solution:
1. We requested the client to provide current and accurate PHP error logs from their hosting environment after attempting WPML activation.
2. We advised analyzing the site setup for potential plugin conflicts or recursion triggers unrelated to Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
3. We recommended considering a clean reinstall of WPML and checking for any custom code or hooks tied to localization or user language settings.
If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket.
