Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit the first page after installing WPML plugins. I am being redirected to a link after clicking on the translate icon.

Symptoms:
I get a 502 Bad Gateway error on the link: hidden link

Questions:
How can I resolve the 502 Bad Gateway error when trying to edit a page with WPML?

Hey there,

Upon checking your website again, I noticed that the 502 error might be broader and might not be related to WPML only. By accessing the Complianz tab, the 502 error happens consistently:

This indicates that the issue is being caused by some third party plugin, or by your theme. To confirm if the issue is WPML related, please deactivate WPML and related plugins and check the Complianz tab. Let me know what the results are.

Please don't forget to make a full website backup before proceeding. Thank you.

Yes, I can see that the Complianz tab also returns a 502 error. I tried deactivating some plugins to troubleshoot the issue, and after deactivating the WPML plugins, Complianz started working fine.

Let me know if you need any further details.

Hey there,

Thank you for sharing the details. I downloaded a copy of your website and noticed that the issue only happens for the PHP version you're currently using. Please make sure to have a full website backup, reach out to your hosting and ask them to downgrade PHP to version 8.2.

Let me know if the issue is solved after that. With the copy on version 8.2 I was able to access the Translations Tab and the Complianz plugin with all WPML plugins activated. When using 8.4 or above, I got the same error as you're having.
