This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wants to complete the automatic translation of their website into French using DeepL for the remaining content, and ensure future content is also automatically translated. They are also unsure about the credit requirements and purchasing options for DeepL.
Solution:
1. Set DeepL as the default translation engine by navigating to WPML > Settings > Automatic translation, selecting "Different Engine", ensuring DeepL is activated, and placing it first in the list.
2. To estimate the translation credits needed, go to WPML > Translation Dashboard, filter for "Not completed" translations, select all, and choose "Translate automatically" for all languages. This will provide a credit estimate using DeepL.
3. To automatically translate future content, after completing steps 1 and 2, activate "Translate Everything Automatically" in WPML > Translation Dashboard, with the option to select only future content for automatic translation.

Hi,

We would like to translate the rest of the website into French using DeepL.

Much of the site already appears to be translated. However it seems this was done manually. When we try to run the full site auto-translation, the system estimates that we need nearly 740,000 credits. This seems very high given that a large portion of the content is already available in French.

Could you please advise on the best way to complete the automatic translation for the remaining content only?

We would also like to set things up so that new content added to the site is automatically translated into French in future, also using Deepl

We are also a bit unsure about the pricing and credit purchase options. The information available seems to contradict itself in places, so some clarification would be helpful. So please advise on how many credits we need to purchase and how.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Hello there,

1. First, to set DeepL as default, please go to WPML > Settings > Automatic translation and select "Different Engine".

After that, make sure that DeepL is activated on the list, and drag it to be the first option. That will set it as default.

2. Now, to get a translation credits estimate, go to WPML > Translation Dashboard and filter only for "Not completed" translations. Select them all and, in the bottom, select "Translate automatically" for all languages. That will show you the estimate using DeepL

3. Finally, to translate future content using DeepL, after steps 1 and 2, you can simply activte "Translate Everything Automatically" in WPML > Translation Dashboard. When you activate it, you have the option to select only future content for automatic translation.
