Background of the issue:
I translated a single page to German to test your AI translation. The original English page is at hidden link and the German page is at hidden link. I am following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-page-slugs/.

Symptoms:
The English page did not gain a language selector to link to the German page. The German page has a language selector with German and English, but it redirects to hidden link, which does not match the original English page ID 33.

Questions:
Why does the English page not have a language selector to link to the German page?
Why does the German page's language selector redirect to a different page with ID 2123?
Is there a different procedure I should follow to create translations?

Thanks for contacting us. I've checked the links and it looks like the translated page is not linked to the correct primary language page.

Please share temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your Website and I will correct it for you.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Hi and thanks for fixing it!

I still had a couple questions.

1. How do you think this happened. I thought I followed all the instructions.
2. Could you link me to the instructions? The documentation link for AI goes to a marketing page.
3. Question. Currently the links on the German pages link to the English version. As a create more German pages will those links update and link to the German instead of English page?

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure what you've done, but when I checked, the page wasn't connected to the correct translation.

2. Could you link me to the instructions? The documentation link for AI goes to a marketing page.
You need to first disconnect the page from the wrong translated page, as explained here https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-disconnect-translations-from-the-default-language-page-or-post/ . Then, connect it to the correct translated page https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

3. Question. Currently the links on the German pages link to the English version. As a create more German pages will those links update and link to the German instead of English page?
Your future translation should be correct. But if you still have issues, you can let me know, and I will check.

Hi. Thanks for fixing the linking problem. I have translated a few more pages with no linking issues.

But I do still have a problem with the actual translated page. It two errors I would not expect.

1. The last paragraph on the German Page is missing. Its a short paragraph: "The New York Pass is available online or over the phone directly from the company"

2. The list of tourist attractions on the right (or bottom of a mobile device) is missing formatting (font change), much of the list is missing and many of the links were deleted. Do I need to format the list differently?
