This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are unable to enable automatic translation in WPML on your development site.
Solution:
We found that your user account was missing a value for "Display name", and it should always have a first name and last name filled in. After updating these details, the issue with enabling automatic translation was resolved. Please run a test now to confirm that the problem is fixed.

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello,

Did you recently migrate this site?

Please revise WPML > Support > Installer Support (last link on the page).

Click "Check now".

Do you see any issues regarding API connection or site key registration?

Also, please go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and send ma screenshot of the ID that you see inside the section "Your Automatic Translation account id is".

Best regards
Andreas

MY apologies for the delay in answering, as I only work from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

I took a closer look at the provided debug information:

It looks like a Translation Service is enabled on the site. Revise WPML > Translation Management > Translators and check the section for Professional Translation Services. If such a service is used, then you usually would rely only on this service. If you no longer plan to use such a service, please disable it.

Guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/professional-translation-via-wpml/

If this will not solve the issue, please allow me to take a closer look at the site.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comments section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up your website and database before granting us access.
If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and website credentials will be set to "PUBLIC." DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

It looks like you changed the site from production to development but you did not update the site key.

1) Go to https://wpml.org/account/websites/

2) If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.

3) Re-enter the site URL. This will create a new site key.

4) Click "Show key" and copy it.

5) Enter the key under Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered there, deregister it first.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

On the ATE Error Log it says:

ATE Server Communication Unable to authenticate

Could you please double-check with your hosting support if there is maybe a server firewall in place that is blocking requests for those URLs?
