This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues while translating a page from English to Spanish using the new ATE interface. The problems include the inability to complete the translation due to formatting markers, parts of the translation resetting upon reopening, and the old ATE interface ignoring

<br />

markers and splitting paragraphs into multiple lines.
Solution:
We have resolved the initial issue with the HTML markers. However, the new editor still erases text line breaks when the "I prefer bigger segments" option is selected, affecting both normal text and text within the Toggle element. To address the issue with the line breaks, we have created a new support ticket which you can follow here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-line-breaks-in-new-ate/

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page from English to Spanish using the new ATE interface. The page in question is hidden link.

Symptoms:
Even using automatic translation, I cannot complete the translation because I get: "the original sentence includes formatting markers. however...". Some parts of the already completed translation get reset when I reopen the translation. In the old ATE interface, I managed to complete the translation, but it ignored the markers and put all the lines in a paragraph. After saving and reopening, ATE split all the paragraphs into multiple lines, requiring retranslation.

Questions:
Why does the new ATE interface not complete the translation due to formatting markers?
Why do some parts of the translation reset when reopening?
Why does the old ATE interface ignore markers and split paragraphs into multiple lines?

Hi, thanks for creating the ticket. It´s been simplified too much and some issues have been left behind.

The markers issue seems to be resolved, though the new editor erases the texts breaklines when "I prefer bigger segments" is selected.
It happens in normal text and in the Toggle element text aswell.

I´m glad to have the option of having paragraphs -not- split into infinite sentences.
But it´s not useful if 5 paragraphs become just one...

Find attached the screenshot where this can be seen.

I'll answer you there.
