Hi Drazen, Thanks for this. I did not use the Fully Custom – Create the Menu Translations By Yourself but the option above for the system to do it automatically once selected. in my original English menu, I have some of the menu drop down options which are Anchor linked in the pages (#) (EG: hidden link), these do not translate (and redirect to the correct translated page in another language), how do I have the translation for this to direct to the anchor link directly to the translated page and have the translation automatically done (it is only for 2 words (Dates / Prices) but needs to be translated in 7 different languages automatically? thanks |

Hello, We need to recommend again to translate the menu manually. Also, take note that custom menu items are not able to be translated automatically and need to be translated with WPML String Translation before running WP Menus Sync. Best regards |

Hi Andreas, getting a bit confused, I was give this link above to check: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/#:~:text=For%20a%20fully,about%20automatic%20updates which directs me to: Translating Custom Links after Running WP Menu Sync! so on this page above, which process do I need to use? - Easiest Let WPML create the translated menus WPML automatically creates translated menus with the same structure and items in all languages Menu can’t include custom links or custom navigation labels - Easy & Customizable Use WPML’s WP Menus Sync Keeps your menus in sync across languages Gives you the flexibility to translate and adjust custom links - Fully Custom Manually Create & Translate the Menus Complete control over menu translations and structure for each language More manual work also this is taking lots of my time, it has been already a few weeks to find out about the menu situation and find it difficult to set up, is there a way to pay someone at WPML to set up the menus on my website (my webmaster has no experience with WPML neither)? thank you |

It depends on how the original menu is created. If the menu is using custom menu items, then they need to get translated manually at WPML > String Translation or by manually creating the menu in each language. If in fact no custom menu items are used, then WPML should be able to sync the menus completely at WPML > WP Menus Sync. This will create identical menus in all languages, of the pages, posts or archives that you are linking to have already been translated and published. Is your menu using custom menu items? Please send me a screenshot of the menu. |

Thank you! You are using a mix of dynamic menu items and custom menu items and the menus are not yet translated. Please got to WPML > WP Menus Sync and complete the dialog. This will create the menus in all languages and link any dynamic menu items if those pages were translated already. Now, at the bottom of the page you should see a notification saying that the custom menu items will need to get translated on WPML > String Translation. Click the links and you will be redirected to String Translation. Here translate the custom menu items. Once you are done run again WPML > WP Menus Sync. |

Hi Andreas, Do all menus (in menus sync) need to be translated before going to the next step? see attached menus sync 1 and 2 details also for the string translation, as you can see in attached there are more than 4,500 strings in the website, how do I know which ones I need to translate (see attached exemple of String page in string.png) is there a way to find out which one are for the menus only, i attached the "string details png' which show the drop down to choose, but for each of my camp menu, it only gives me 4 drop down options but all my camps have about 6 drop down option menu in my website (home, Dates (anchor link: /#dates), Prices (anchor link: /#prices), location & camp details, Airport transfer / Camp Questions, and finally Photos. because all 6 menu drop down options do not appear, how will this be translated in this case if only 4 show in the drop down menu in String translation? thanks |

The menu items are saved in dedicated text domain which you can see on your screenshot, like for example "Arsenal Menu menu". Also, there are direct links to String Translation at the bottom of the page after completing WP Menus Sync. See screenshot. |

Hi Andreas, the direct link to string translation at the bottom of the page direct only to 4 translations not 6 as I mentioned above (see attached). so half of the menu is not translated. what to do? also as I mentioned above, this is taking lots of my time, it has been already a few weeks to find out about the menu situation and find it difficult to set up, is there a way to pay someone at WPML to set up the menus on my website (my webmaster has no experience with WPML neither)? thanks |

Please take kindly note that our support is not supposed to create translations. I can make an exception, but would like to ask your cooperation in translating what has not yet been translated first. If there will still be issue, I can have a closer look into this. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the site to investigate the issue further. The required fields are below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it. IMPORTANT If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and site login details will be set to "PUBLIC". DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields. The private reply form looks like this: The next time you reply, click on "I still need assistance". Video: Please note that we are obliged to request this information individually on each ticket. My apologies, but your menus are really big and we can not create those translations for you, as this would take us too much time. If you have any further questions about the provided instructions, please let me know. I further suggest that you first make sure that all the pages that are using inside the menu are translated, before syncing the menu at WPML > WP Menus Sync. Finally, translate the custom menu items at WPML > String Translation. |

HI Andreas, I don't know what you mean by too big. the names of the camps do not need to be translated as they will stay as such in all languages. if above is too much, I would just need them to be formated so they come down as a drop down menu only like the original English website and I can take care of the translation, it is just a question of formatting which is the problem for now. is this possible? thanks |

You need to translate the menus and also set the proper additional menu options on each menu manually. Your menus are not translated yet. I also would not suggest running WPML > WP Menus Sync yet, until all your pages have been translated. I suggest: 1) Translate any page that is used on the menu. If you have any open questions about this workflow, please let me know. REMINDER: WPML Support Policy: |
