This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is working on SEO for multiple countries and has encountered two issues. First, they are unable to save different product categories for the same product in different languages. Second, they are questioning the effectiveness of using '/en' for the United Kingdom and considering switching to a '.co.uk' domain extension.
Solution:
For the issue with product categories, we explained that product categories are synchronized across translations, meaning that if a product is in category 1 in the original language, it will also be in category 1 in the translated versions. To have a product in both categories 1&2 for a translation, the client must add it to both categories in the original language as well.
Regarding the domain extension concern, we have opened a separate support ticket to address this issue in detail. The client can follow the discussion and find solutions at https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-use-en-for-united-kingdom-but-i-dont-get-any-organic-traffic/.

If this solution doesn't look relevant, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hi!

I'm working on my website for many hours and thank you wpml for the nice plugin. I'm busy with the seo for many countries and I have a question about it.

Some products need to be in different product categories. So Product: Butterfly need for Germany in categorie 1 But for France it needs to be in categorie 1&2. Right now every time I trying to edit this my changes don't save.

Also I Use /en for United Kingdom. But I don't get any organic traffic so I did some research and I see it's better to use .co-uk. Is this possible? Because this is the domain extension for United Kingdom

Please let me know and enjoy your night!

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

It is worth noting that the translated product categories are designed to be synchronized with the products in the original language. Unfortunately, this aspect cannot be modified. If you want to have the 1&2 category for the translation, you will need to add them to the original as well.

I have created a new ticket for your other question at https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-use-en-for-united-kingdom-but-i-dont-get-any-organic-traffic/. This will be helpful for other users who may encounter similar issues while searching the forum.
