This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues while trying to edit the main language content (Dutch) using Elementor. A warning message appears stating that any changes made will be lost when the page is sent for translation. Additionally, despite disabling the secondary language (English), the top bar still indicates 'Edit translation' for a page in the original Dutch language.
Solution:
We recommend checking if the page was initially created in a different default language and is now being edited as a translation. To resolve this, you can either continue translating from the originally created language to Dutch using the WPML Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), or switch to the WordPress Editor for manual edits. To switch to the WordPress Editor, go to the Language section in the sidebar on your default language page's edit screen and click to switch to the WordPress Editor. For visual guidance, you can refer to this documentation: step-by-step guide.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit my main language content (Dutch) using Elementor. The issue can be seen on the page: hidden link. The problem persists on every page, not just this one.

Symptoms:
When I try to edit the main language content, I receive a warning message: 'Warning: Edits you're about to make will be lost. You are about to edit this translation using Elementor. Any changes you make will be lost the next time you send this page for translation.'

Questions:
Why am I receiving a warning message when editing the main language content?
How can I edit the main language content without losing changes?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

This means that originally page was created in default in different language, and this page is a translation of that.

I would advise to continue to translate from originally created language to this 2nd one via WPML ATE editor, or if you wish to continue manually you can disable WPML editor and switch to WordPress editor:

On your default language page edit screen, go to the Language section in the sidebar and click to switch to the WordPress Editor.

Okay I will check this. Also I have disabled the secondary language (EN). But on the top bar is still says "Edit translation" for a page that is in the original Dutch language.

Hello,
My name is Carlos, and I will continue working on this ticket

Can you describe the steps you followed to "disabled the secondary language (EN)"?

Looking forward to your message.
