I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Hi,
Sorry, I replied by email and I don’t see my reply here.
This is a very small issue...but the site is very sensitive and unfortunately I am not able to make a staging due to capacity on the server.
I have investigated already and I would like to ask you the following.
- Is it possible to check but NOT change settings WPML? I had already trouble in the past...
- The issue is only the footer and only in 1 language
- The footer is made with DIVI theme builder...
- I have 2 sections, 1 for desktop, 1 for mobile and I think WPML is only updating the desktop but not the mobile....
- If I delete the footer and make it again, will it erase WPML records for the footer?
I see that you're unable to grant access to your website. To address your query about deleting and recreating the footer, if you delete the primary language footer, it will indeed remove the associated WPML translation records. Translation memories are stored in the primary language, as explained in this documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/
Considering you have two versions of the footer, one for desktop and one for mobile, it's important to ensure that both versions are translated. Do you know how to check a translation manually? If you're unsure, go to the template, and try switching the language using the "language switcher" on the top admin bar. This would allow you to switch languages and not open the "Advanced Translation Editor". Let me know how it goes.
Hi Kor,
Thanks for your answer...
I tried to following your advice. I erased mobile section, make it one section for all....still same issue.
So I deleted the theme builder footer (global) and rebuilt it.
I see NL OK, original language
Then I go to Translation management....but I can’t find the footer template that I have published today...
So now NL and FR are both in NL.....and EN is empty, I got no footer at all....
Please help, I made it worse now...I don’t know what to do...
Alright then, if you need further assistance, please share temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Also, please update the WPML plugins on your Website to the latest version.
