Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with the WPML import/export functionality when managing translated WooCommerce products. I am using the native WooCommerce import tool and have also purchased WP All Import Pro with the WooCommerce add-on. During import, I am properly populating the following meta fields: _wpml_import_translation_group, _wpml_import_language_code, _wpml_import_source_language_code. I am not using third-party plugins. Additionally, I have encountered issues with the Advanced Translation Editor in WPML.
Symptoms:
The translated products are not linked to the original versions in other languages and are imported as separate products. The translation group code appears different after re-exporting products using WPML’s export tool. The Advanced Translation Editor in WPML shows an error about fields having different translation options, while the Classic Editor works without problems. WP All Import Pro does not automatically associate translated product versions.
Questions:
Why are translated products not linked to the original versions during import?
Why does the translation group code change after re-exporting products?
Why does the Advanced Translation Editor show an error about different translation options?
How can I ensure automatic association of translated product versions using WP All Import Pro?
Are you importing only the products in the 2nd language? If so, this is the issue, you need to import both products in the original and in the translated language.
If this is not the case, please provide a video with your workflow.
