Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my post from English to German using WPML on my site hidden link. I am also using the All in One SEO plugin.

Symptoms:
The canonical URL for the translated post in German still shows the English version. When I edit the translated post, the canonical URL remains the same as the English version.

Questions:
Is WPML not setting the correct canonical URL when translating into another language?

Hello,

please provide a duplicator package of your website, so we can check further the issue.

Please exclude any large files, like backups, media uploads and etc, to keep the size of package small.
