Hi, Thank you for contacting the support. Can you please explain the issue in little more details? Like the items are lost when saving in default language or during the translation? I'll also recommend checking this guide https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/ and see if you haven't missed anything. Further please check if this happens with default WP theme (i.e. 2021 or 2023) and only WPML plugins. Remember to take full backup before proceeding with this testing!! Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter. Regards. |

Here is the sequence: 1) I discovered the menu bar lost in the website without doing anything (it could be because of the auto update of the plugin 2) I entered the menu setting and the main menu wasn't ticked for the primary, but I never did that, so anyway I ticked primary so the menu appeared again but the menu items are all different, only few left there 3) Therefore I arranged the items manually, when I saved it and preview, all my setting on this menu went back to those few items left 4) So I tested on deactivate plugin to see where the problem is, the first one I did is WPML because it is always the one crashing my website (currently I still have another issue that the default language in the editor page that some items are locked like price etc). 5) Once I turned off the WPML Multilingual plugin, I arranged the items on the menu and saved it successfully, and then I activate this plugin again, if I changed any items in the menu, when I save it, the menu will then go back to the few items again, so now I don't move anything from the menu and waiting for your support. |

Thank you for the detailed updates. You mentioned that you haven't selected a primary menu previously but a menu was of course in use. Is the menu coming from theme directly? I mean sometimes theme customizer offers to set a menu but that's also reflects in Appearance -> Menus. This issue seems strange. Does this happen with WPML plugins only and with a standard WordPress theme (i.e. 2021 or 2023)? Because your current theme isn't on our compatibility list, so can we confirm if theme isn't creating any conflict? However, if you've already tested that I 'll need to take a closer look at your site. So I request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP), preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated. Your next answer will be private, to share this information safely. Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in admin and on frontend. IMPORTANT: Please take a complete backup of the site to avoid data loss. |

Once again, the menu was disappeared just this morning. I needed to deactivate WPML Multilingual CMS, then select the menu to primary again and save, then lastly to activate the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin again, that the menu will be there. However this is the major issue, please have a look into it, thanks! |

Thank you for the access, I logged into the site, activated WPML and then went to Appearance -> Menus and can see the Main (Primary) selected. I can also see the menu correctly on the frontend. However, I see that this main menu has no Chinese translation (see attached), but perhaps you've translated it via String Translation that switching to Chinese in frontend brings up Chinese menu. I'll recommend checking https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/ to understand how to translate menus and sync menus items across languages. Besides this, I also saved the menu and didn't lose any item. I doubled checked by repeating the save and checking on frontend. See this screen recording hidden link. Then I added a new item to the page, saved, checked on frontend. Then, removed that item from menu, saved and checked again. It seems to work just fine. See this screen recording hidden link. In short, I am not able to reproduce the problem. Can you please record your screen to show the steps to reproduce the problem? |
