Background of the issue:
I have set up a 'fast' WooCommerce environment which is a copy of the production: hidden link in French and hidden link the translated page. I am trying to translate custom fields in WooCommerce products using WPML.

Symptoms:
The translated version does not have custom fields translated. Blocks like 'NOS ENGAGEMENTS' do not appear in the translated version.

Questions:
What is the correct process to translate custom fields in WooCommerce products using WPML?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.

1) Please check the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Custom Fields Translation section
2- Select "Show "Multilingual Content Setup" meta box on post edit screen."
3- Click "Save"
4- Edit the product in the default language
5- Scroll down to the Mltilingual Content Setup section
6- Search for the field name
7- Set it to "Translate"
8- Click "Save"
9- Update the product in the default language
10- Update its translation

2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.

Best regards,
Osama

I did as you said is here what I see at the bottom of my product : s-Image1.png

Those are not what I try to translate. Here are the kind of fields I want to translate : s-Image2.png

For example on this product : hidden link : s-Image3.png

In english hidden link I don’t have this block.

It is a custom text in the back office : s-Image4.png

Thank you,

Hi,

Please click on the "Show Systems Field" link in the "Multilingual Content Setup" section.

If you didn't find the fields, I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

Thanks for the access details. I see that you managed to set the fields as translatable, and they appear in the translation editor. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)

Please complete the product translation and check if that fixes the issue.

Note: I didn't change anything. I just checked the settings.

Best regards,
Osama

Yes it seems OK for products with the System Field checked.

but now I have the same problem with custom categories fields and I can't correct them in the same way than product fields. For example :

hidden link

vs

hidden link

Hi,

Please follow the same steps for category fields by going to WPML-> Settings-> Custom Term Meta section, clicking "Show System Fields," and setting the fields to be translatable.

After that, please update the categories and their translations in the default language.

Best regards,
Osama
