Background of the issue:
I am using Bricksbuilder for my pages on the site. I am trying to manage translations using WPML's translation editor.

Symptoms:
In the translation editor, there are many elements that don't exist in my original language. These include older text blocks that I have already deleted. When I copy a block from another page and change the text, the translation editor shows both the original text of that block and the new text. On the frontend, only the fields that exist on the original page are shown, but in the editor, there are many fields that I have to translate, or I can't save the translation.

In the attached screenshot you can see that there are fields from a template that I have already changed to another text. Still I get the placeholder texts from the template and need to translate them to proceed.

Questions:
Why are there ghost entries in the translation editor for elements that don't exist in the original language?
How can I remove or manage these ghost entries to save translations properly?

Hi,

Please, try the troubleshooting section.

1. Take a backup of the DB of your site.

2. Go to WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting (link)

3. Once on the troubleshooting screen, press the following buttons and check if it helps. Press each button at a time and wait for the process to complete.

- 'Clear the cache in WPML'

- 'Remove ghost entries from the translation tables'

- 'Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs'

- 'Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE'

- 'Set language information'

- 'Fix post type assignment for translations'

- 'Cleanup and optimize string tables'

*** Please backup your database before using this.***

After this, please make a small change to the original page so it will trigger an update to the translation. Check the translation and see if the unwanted text is still there.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi, the team at Bricks also checked it out and found an error that is causing this behavior: hidden link

So it seems that the issue here can be closed.

Thanks,
Stefan
