When I test this issue here hidden link I am currently not able to reproduce it.
I understand this happens intermedently, howeever, I have switched back and forth ove 10 times and have tried in increments of 5 minutes a few times with no 404 errors yet.
Hi there. The problem will happen after X time, when you are not logged in. I've just got one this morning after a change. I've removed Estatik plugins, check my site in incognito mode, and 404 error. Then, we have to log in, save permalink and start back to work. Always the same error in the log.

My apologies for not getting back to you earlier, but my colleague Bobby is on vacation this week and I am handling his queue.
I am not sure why, but for some reason, your ticket besides others, did not show up for me in the last two weeks and this is what was causing this delay.
I connected myself to the staging site, saved the WPML Site URL format and the WordPress Permalink settings and I do not have an issue with accessing:

or while using "Languages in directories": hidden link
Also, other English pages that have been already translated to 100% and published are accessible as expected.
Is this kind of a random issue?
If so, do you maybe know what actually triggers this issue?

Yes, I have to go in the admin everytime, save permalink again and it work back. No, I don't know what's making this error. I only see the error log like this.
Any idea how we can fix that ? Been a long time I'm turning around with this.

Once the issue occurs again, please connect to the server and have a look at the htaccess file in order to verify if this is the issue that is affecting your site:
If you can confirm that Rewrite Base is overwritten with the language folder "/en" instead of simply "/" then you should apply the workaround from the errata.
