Experiencing duplicate queries and database locking up

berniceD-2	Background of the issue: I am trying to resolve an issue where WPML is running multiple duplicate queries, causing database locking errors. I found a support thread titled 'WPML Causing Backend Slowness and Duplicated Queries' that suggests deleting or truncating the icl_background_task database table as a temporary fix. Symptoms: WPML is running multiple duplicate queries, leading to database locking errors. Questions: Is there a permanent solution to prevent WPML from running duplicate queries and causing database locking?

Meanwhile this ticket is attended by one of my colleagues, unfortunately so far this is (https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-causing-backend-slowness-and-duplicated-queries/) the only available temporary solution. However, it is due release with the next major WPML version. I'll recommend subscribing to the comments of the said errata for an update. Regards.
