This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to translate the homepage using WPML, but encounter an error stating that WPML tried to translate the page three times and failed.
Solution:
We have resolved the issue on our end. Please follow these steps to fix the problem on your site:
1. Edit the page in the original language.
2. Make a small change to the content.
3. Save the changes.
4. Update the translation.
If the issue persists, activate the WordPress debug mode by following the guide at https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/. After enabling debug mode, repeat the steps and check for any fatal errors in the debug.log file located within the wp-content folder.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
