Background of the issue:
I am developing a site using ACF custom fields and have installed the WPML plugin. The support team configured it to display subpages correctly. I need to translate the site into two languages and then delete the primary language.

Symptoms:
I see many custom types in the settings that need to be set to translate, and I don't know how to do it.

Questions:
How do I set custom types to translate in WPML?
How can I translate the site into two languages and then delete the primary language?

You need to install our addon "Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual".

If you translate the posts and pages with the WPML Translation Editor, then you can set all ACF Field Groups to "Same fields across languages". This will set the translation preference for all fields automatically.

If you instead use the WordPress Editor to translate the content, please use the field group translation preference "Different fields across languages".
