  1. Hi, I paid for Multilingual CMS for life upgrade the last 9th July. The status is pending yet. Can you accelerate this operation? I need to use WPML urgently.

    Thanks

    • We offer PayPal and 2checkout as payment options. You can use credit and debit cards with both PayPal and 2checkout, without creating an account. PayPal also offers an ‘e-check’ option, which lets you pay from your bank account. This requires registration in PayPal and to connect PayPal to your bank account. Does this help?

  2. Hello,
I was wondering Can i buy the Multilingual CMS version and then for example after 10 month pay the difference and upgrade to lifetime version ?

    • Hey Daneil,
yes, it works as you described: you can buy the CMS version and then upgrade to Lifetime and pay the difference only. Upgrading to Lifetime will be possible within 30 days before your current license expires. You will get an email notification. To upgrade to Lifetime you will have to log into your WPML account first and you will see a relevant link for this.

  3. Hi there, I would like to ask if the WPML is working good with ACF?

I would like to buy but I need to make it sure..

can you give me a tutorial how to do that.. video tutorial is a good one.. just want to make it sure before we buy.

    please email me back thanks!

  4. Hi,

Can I buy the Lifetime license and use WPML on more than one website for multiple customers ? I just want to be sure that I understand well the “unlimited websites” license.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

    • Hi Jonathan. You get it perfectly right 🙂 Feel free to buy only one license and use it for all the sites you need 🙂

    • Yes, but there is one buggy issue. The cart will empty if a user switches the languages when having something in it. This bug has already been fixed and waiting to be released soon. I cannot give you the exact dates. It will be announced in our blog. Everything else should work fine in this configuration.

  5. Hi, I bought the plugin in January, 2013, but I can’t find the file anywere now. Can I download it from some URL? Or do I have to buy it again?

    Thanks

    • Hi Clara,
to download the WPML plugin you need to have an active subscription. If you want to renew your subscription, please first log into your WPML account again. Then use one of the links for renewing it.

  6. Hi there!
I would like to purchase your plugin but first I would like to be sure it`s exactly what I`m looking for.
I bought the wpestate theme so I would like to know if it is compatible with the wpml plugin. Moreover I need to know if it traslate strings and labels that are already fixed in the area theme options –> appeareance. Can you please let me know?
Is there a way to upload screenshot in order to show you what I’ m referring to?

Thanks you in advance for your support.

    Alessandra

    • Hi Ale,
are we talking about this theme:
      https://wpml.org/theme/wp-estate/

If so, it is compatible with WPML and was tested by our Compatibility Team. It means that you will be able to translate all custom options. You will need to buy the CMS or Lifetime license because only these two contain the String Translation module. You will need it to translate your theme custom options.

  7. Hello,

Curious to know if I’ll be able to use the lifetime license in multiple websites belonging to one single client.

    Can you please clarify?

    Thanks!
    Tmelo.

    • Hello,
thank you for your interest in WPML and your question. You buy only one WPML license and you can use it for all the sites you are building for all your customers, not only one.

  8. Hi, we’re about to buy WPML but a little uncertain about what to expect in the way of changes. The last time we updated WPML on our site it was using version 2.4.3 (which stored the translations as posts). How does the new version store translations, and is there a document on the upgrade path for moving from one to the other?

    • Hi Denny,
if you were our customer in the past please try to log into your WPML account first. If you don’t remember your password, try this link:
      https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/

and then use one of the links offered there to purchase WPML.

The current WPML version is: 3.2.2, it still stores translation as posts. Here you will find instructions how to upgrade:

      https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If you are still not sure what to do in your particular case, please don’t hesitate our support forum for help.

      • Oh, that’s a little disappointing actually. Having them stored as posts causes a world of issues when we’re trying to work with them via our own custom plugins (like making posts from site A show up as a feed on site B… without getting duplicates because the same post exists in multiple languages) and I was pretty excited with the idea of translations being stored detached from the WP_Post. Ah well. Thanks for the reply.

        • Are you sure about this? When I look at your documentation I find this:

          https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-tables/

“WPML holds the language information in a separate table.

The table that holds the language and translation information is called icl_translations.

Each site content element configured as translatable (post, page, tag, category, custom post type, and custom taxonomies) has an entry in this table. Note: Comments are not translatable but they have a record in icl_translations because they have language information assigned to them.”

          • Never mind, I just confirmed it does in my test configuration. Too bad, was really looking forward to this translating via a l18n/l10n methodology where the translations for items were kept independent and you didn’t need 2 WP_Post objects for one post in 2 languages.

            • Hi Denny, sorry to hear that WPML doesn’t satisfy your needs. The I18n methodology is only used to translate strings coming from the source files of your theme/plugin.

  9. Hi guys, the Multilingual CMS includes both Traditional Chinese (Cantonese) and Mandarin (simplified Chinese) languages? Thank you!

  10. Hi

I had WPML but it was generating a lot of mistakes on my website – Besides making it really slow – Now my subscription is over and I am not sure if I should buy it to only get the support – I have been reading the forum in order to find answer to those problems but there isn’t solutions I can use.

Do you have a try program or basic in order for me to check if it is really going to work on my website.

-The gallery went crazy now I have more than 25.000 thumbnails – Upload a file was imposible the only way was having the WPML gallery deactivated
-The website was really slow I have the last version of WPML I got (security one form downloads) here is the screenshot from P3 Plugin Profiler: http://uploadpie.com/rmN1E and here is the screenshot after I deactivate WPML plugins: http://uploadpie.com/lBQmy

I bought the plugin once and it is really difficult to have it working right all the time. I would like to use fix it all and then if it works use for sure in my website.

    thank you in advance.

    • Hi mateoG,
sorry to hear you weren’t satisfied with using WPML. I don’t know when in the past you were using WPML. We are constantly improving the performance. We have a refund policy which allows you to buy WPML and test for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, let us know and we will give your money back. You will be able to ask technical questions in our support forum during that trial time. More info here:
      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

    • Hi Ada,
no, WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. It allows you to turn all your site’s elements (including pages, posts, categories, widgets etc) to multilingual which means that you will be able to add translations yourself.

    • They are illegally selling WPML and more over you won’t get any support or upgrades if you purchase there.
In the end it will end up being more expensive…

To buy a legal copy of WPML with access to our dedicated support they need to buy at wpml.org
      https://wpml.org/purchase/

      • Why illegal? The GNU GPL permits this: 🙂 Only thing that users don’t have is your support … Do you act against wordpress and license? WordPress clearly defined everything in its license terms … And it seems that the third paragraph concerns you 🙂
There is some legal grey area regarding what is considered a derivative work, but we feel strongly that plugins and themes are derivative work and thus inherit the GPL license. If you disagree, you might want to consider a non-GPL platform such as Serendipity (BSD license) or Habari (Apache license) instead.

If you do not agree with the license, choose a different platform than wordpress. But we all know that the publisher will not do it 🙂 Too much money, he would lose 🙂 Apropos, you are feeding on the community… Most people on local groups are asking for support regarding your plugins, though they have support: ) The reason for this may be: language skills, long time response – The main concern is time zones. You sleep and someone is in the middle of the day 🙂 Individual support don’t exist Customers buy plugs from you and next buy monthly care from me 🙂 For some time, I encourage them to use the wpspring service. Why should customers pay for the support they don’t use 🙂 Enter the package without support or reseller license 🙂 In some countries, people earn $ 400 a month 🙂 – They are not able to pay for such an expensive support, so I have a job 🙂 Thank you for that, God bless you … Sorry for my English 🙂

        • Hello,
you are referring to a reply which is more than two years old. WPML is based on the GNU GPL license indeed but OnTheGoSystems Limited owns and oversees the WPML trademark. Thus, any use of the name as part of any project, product, service, domain or company name being the same or similar to the WPML trademark is unauthorized. I don’t know how their site and products look like back in 2015.

          • Welcome back,
I replied to this thread because today, 19.12.2017, in the results of Google is at a very high place. So many people ca reading the answer. It seems to me that the biggest problem publishers have is the desire to keep free software in their own hands. For this reason, the programs are uploaded with photos and trademarks, which removal takes in fact five minutes. I understand brand protection, but is it simpler to run a reseller license? Let’s buy $ 2,500 for a license that allows you to sell in one country, + access to updates for three months. After these three months, access to the upgrade for the next half year, for example: $ 1000 + commission, e.g. 10% of each sale. I will be able to upload information on the site: “Official distributor of WMPL in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland”. Support is provided by the local seller. You can introduce paid training for official sellers, and test customer satisfaction with local distributor support. Thanks to that you will receive money that runs between your fingers. Your software is sold everywhere, ebay, local online auctions, local stores, wpspring … and your brand is in no way protected.

There is nothing wrong with reselling your software, and even sharing it for free … If you want, I can pay you a one-time payment for the opportunity to resell your software, I can share the profits. Until the publishers do not run reseller programs in which the local distributor will decide about the price, and you will be earning money during trainings, audits, updates always will be the same problem … To lie users that something is illegal, although you know it is legal. I am curious what would happen if wpspring take a case in court to you for being spied on and misleading. Your answer was to the detriment of a legally operating company;)

All publishers would probably be outraged, because how does the GNU GPL license allow resale? We did not know it, it is outrageous who invented the license. The problem is the lack of cooperation on both sides. You can’t stop programs on the free GNU GPL license in your own hands. I will open a similar local store operating in one country, customers will receive support 🙂 As of today, I do not intend to sell your software but who knows what will happen in the future … I operate on a small local market, are you interested in any cooperation, no Affiliate program ?… Because my clients need support, help in setting plugins, updates, maintenance and even minor changes. Many of them will never buy your plugin because it is affordable – In places where the dollar costs five or even six times more than the national currency. It may seem ridiculous, but there are places where people earn $ 200-500 a month and such money is enough to survive the entire month … However, the cost of your software is not adapted to local markets. And the GNU GPL license is about everyone having access, this is the idea that every even the poorest person in the world would have the same accessibility as everyone …

            • Hello Rafal,
thanks for sharing your thoughts. We do have an affiliate program. You will see it in your WPML account. If you would like to know more about it, please let me know. We realize that not everybody can afford WPML and that’s why we keep the prices so low (starting from $29). 40+ people work on WPML and we need to make our living as well. I hope you understand. If you are interested in joining our affiliate program, you need to have an active account and you will find all the details at https://wpml.org/account/affiliate/ Please let me know if you need more help.

  11. Hi,

Is WPML is not for me or did I used it wrongly?

Tried the plugin’s Gravity forms add on. I noticed that the translation jobs that I can send all have the old form names and old form fields at the time at the time of gathering the forms in Translation Management. Even if there’s an updating notification, all forms I don’t use in current version are not deleted from translation.

Why doesn’t WPML grab the last and current version of the files I need translated?
Why doesn’t WPML delete the fields I deleted in my forms?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Belle,
could you please raise a ticket in our support forum and describe your problem? You will receive a detailed answer there. Here, I’m asking pre-sales questions. Thank you.

      Best regards, Agnes

  12. Hello

I am going for 3-4 languages on my web, but would it be possible to use Your plugin, after having run the site for a while, I mean not using more than one language to build the site, and when ready install WPML and beginn to translate ?

I think it would be to big a job to start with 3-4 languages on a complicated theme to. What do you think? ..:-)

    • Hi Jan,
of course you can do it and you are perfectly right: it’s better to have everything ready with one language first and then to add new ones. Please remember to make sure that your theme is WPML compatible. Otherwise you might have problems with translating theme custom options.

        • This theme wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team so I cannot say what issues you might expect. For sure the basic stuff like translating posts, pages, menus, categories will work. You might run into some issue with theme dependent elements like some custom options, sliders etc.

You can buy WPML and test it for free for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs we will give your money back
          https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

  13. Hi,

Can we display different page content for each language ?
For example, i need 2 different homepage, one in US for example, and one in French, but those 2 pages have to show different informations.

Can i did it with WPML ?
    Thanks

    • Example :

When a user click on “English” language, he show “Homepage 2” for example (name in admin panel) and when he click on “French” he show “Homepage 1” ? Each page have to show different informations.

If a user choose “English” he have more menu options, but in French, i need just 4-5 menu title, not same that my english version.

Can i did it with this plugin ? or it’s to complexe and it need another approach.
      Thanks

      • Hi, I have just replied but now have read this comment. Now we are talking about the menu. You can use two different menus, one for the English part, another one for the French part. But the menu is not the same as homepage so Im confused now.

You can buy WPML and test it for 30 days. During that time you will have access to our support forum. Feel free to test it. If it turns out that this plugin doesn’t satisfy your needs, we will get your money back:

        https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

    • Hi,
this is possible but will depend on how your homepage is built. If you use a simple WP page for it and all your content is included as the page body, no problem at all: your translation will be a separate WP page anyway so you can make it totally different than the original one. But if you use a specific template (provided by your theme) for your homepage, there might be some limitations. It will depend on a specific template used by your theme.

  14. Hi , I am setting up a website of metals and looking something as a price converter .

I was thinking of using wpml for this . So here is the situation , Ex. 1gm cost 50$ . Default currency is $ . If i use the prices in gms that is put each product gm in the price and use the currency rate as 50$ , Will that work ?

Or is there any demo site where i can check if it fits my need .

    Thank you

    • Hi Assam,
our WooCommerce Multilingual plugin was designed to allow to translate WooCommerce products using WPML and this is its main purpose. So I’m not sure that it makes any sense to use this big plugin to handle something else even it this is possible. If I were you, I would search for a dedicated plugin to fit your exact need.

      About demo.

      We have a site
      http://discover-wp.com/site-types/bootcommerce-layouts/

which uses both WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual.

This was created for different purposes (we are also the author of the Toolset plugins) but you can use it to play around with WPML and WooCommerce.

Another option to test our plugins is to buy it and test for 30 days. You will be able to ask your questions in our support forum. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, we will give your money back.

      https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

      • Thank you for your reply .

Well actually i am trying to copy a demo site which uses wpml. Also i have plans to use it for translation in future .

I am going to try the demo site or buy the plugin and see how it goes .

        Thank you

  15. Hi,

I have a problem with WPML while moving site to demo. It show WPML corrupted message and I am not able to set languages in admin backend. I don’t have WPML login details to contact technical support. Because, My client missed the details with old developers and also not able to get it now. Can you please help me to fix WPML corrupted issue in my demo site to proceed further development tasks?

I am ready provide my site details to fix the issue.

Please suggest any solution for this issue.

    • Hi Alex, the only way to get our support forum is to have an active WPML subscription. You can buy the WPML plugin under your name.

  16. Hello,

I have a simple requirement that your plugin can hopefully meet. I want to only translate specific posts in my website without having to translate the whole website, theme, or any plugins. I just need a simple switch in the posts to switch between different translations that I will provide.

I don’t want my user to keep jumping between different languages or permalinks, so when he/she is done with the post, any other link he/she clicks will be the normal permalink. Is this possible using your plugin?

    • Hello,
yes this is possible with WPML. It allows you to translate only some posts/pages and leave other ones in the original language only.

          • Hi Agnes,

I had an experience with a previous plugin that I didn’t like. Here’s an example: If I’m using English and Arabic and I translated a specific post to Arabic, the permalink for the translated version changes to: “www.mywebsite.com/ar/post-title” which is OK so far.

However, If the user clicked the link of any other post that is not in Arabic, the post permalink still shows as: “www.mywebsite.com/ar/other-post-title”, which is the behavior I don’t want.

Do you have the same behavior in your plugin?

            • Hi,
thanks for the example. It helps. WPML can handle this. In WPML setting you find find this:

How to handle languages without translation

Some pages or posts may not be translated to all languages. Select how the language selector should behave in case translation is missing.

              1. Skip language
              2. Link to home of language for missing translations

  17. Hello,
is possible to use the “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” version for different sites?
Also with different domains and hosted on different servers?

    Thank you

  18. Hi,

i’m looking for an automatic multilingual translator for wordpress. This translator must to translate and save the translations (it doesn’t have to be on the fly) I like to know if your plugin does it, if it has some additional charges.

    Thanks

    • Hi,
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. You provide the translations or your can use our ICanLocalize (professional translations done by human) service which is integrated with WPML but paid extra.

  19. hi,

We’re looking to translate our page, however in addition to currency & language switch (we know now it’s all good with WPML 🙂 can you tell us if it’s possible to have a inch & cm switch? for obvious reasons we need to show the measures in cm to european customers.

    Thanks!
