    Hello Chali,

Mihai, our lead developer has been testing out the patch with two other user here: http://wpml.org/forums/topic/multiple-domain-names-pt2/ and here: http://wpml.org/forums/topic/domain-mapping-multi-site/

    thanks,

  2. Hi,

If I bought this plugin, would I be able to display the flags in the header to choose which language you’d like to see instead of the drop down in the sidebar?

  3. Hello there!

We are the team of theme developers and are interested in purchase your WPML plugin. We have some questions, before purchase, and like to ask them in private. To whom can we address?

    Thanks

  4. Hi,

I think my comment was removed?

Please let me know if you can just have the flags display in the head rather then the drop down in the sidebar?

  5. Hi Support,

I am looking to build a multilingual online shop German and English. If I buy WPML do I also need to buy separately woocommerce ml?

    thanks

    • WooCommerce Multilingual comes free. All you need to buy is WPML. You’ll need the complete Multilingual CMS to translate everything in your store.

  6. Can i try Multilingual Blog and then – if i think necessary – upgrade to CMS release and pay only the difference?

Please Dominykas can i have confirm that this plug support my theme?

    Many thanks.
    Mary

    • Yup. You can buy the $29 Blog version and later upgrade to the CMS version. You will only need to pay the difference.

    • Not yet. We’re switching to a different e-commerce system and then we can add a lifetime package, which doesn’t require renewals. It will be available in about 2-3 months. If you buy now, you’ll be able to upgrade to it and pay only the difference.

    • I’m sorry, but from what I read on their site, it seems that ThemeFuse is not compatible with WPML. You can certainly create content in Russian and Chinese with WPML, but there might be compatibility issues with the theme.

We’re very happy to resolve compatibility issues with theme authors. Would you like to check if ThemeFuse developers can spend a bit of time working on this with us?

  7. Hallo, I am wondering if you could take charge of importing my old blog made with qtranslate when I buy WPML.
I am afraidnot to be able to do that, friend of mine who used the importer made a mess.. 🙂
    Thank you
    Margit

  8. Is it possible to upgrade by paying additional 40$, after purchase, from Blog 39$ to CMS 79$ version to test WPML and what features I need?

    Currently unsure.

    Peter

  9. Hello , I’m setting up my new website in WP. I have the chameleon them from Elegenat themes. Is WMPL suitable to run smoothly with this theme ?

    Thxs, Ivo

    • ElegantThemes recently announced that all their themes are now compatible with WPML. We haven’t received these themes yet for review, but it seems that things should run smoothly for you now.

  10. Hi,

I am planing on buying the CMS version of your software – it looks great.

My website will be in 3 languages, english, spanish and russian.

Is it possible to have the following setup:

    Enlgish – http://www.example.com/en
    Spanish – http://www.example.com/es

    ie, both in different subdirectories

    and then, Russian – http://www.example.ru

Is this possible? I want to share the seo/link juice on the .com domain with the en/es translations, but use a .ru for the russian translation because of the heavey influence a .ru domain has in russian SEO.

Also, I assume that it is possible to have the it set so that anybody typing in example.com will be automatically redirected to example.com/en. Am i correct?

Finally, when using your CMS plugin with Yoast SEO, is it possible to change all of the SEO settings for each page in each different language?

Thank you very much for the info, I look forward to using this plugin.

    • I’m sorry, but WPML can not mix language URLs. You can choose either languages in directories or languages in domains. Mixing the two modes creates pretty complex logic for the URL rewrite and we didn’t manage to get it working without messy conditions.

WPML does include browser language detection. You can enable it and automatically redirect new visitors to content in their language. This mechanism intentionally works only once per visitor, so that visitors can still switch their language without being thrown back to the browser default language.

Yes, WPML lets you translate everything in Yoast WordPress SEO plugin. You can enter SEO titles for different pages in different languages, as well as translate the global SEO texts.

      • Good to know. Dou you think that I can change the url settings after setting everything up.

For example starting with directories and then 6 months down the line changing to different domains for different languages?

I know this is not ideal, but is it possible? I would not plan to do this, but just in case.

        Thanks

        • Sorry, one more thing. I would really like to try to make my site work with the en and es translations in subdirectories of example.com, translated with WPML.

Would it then be possible for me to make a seperate site with the domain example.ru only in russian and then have the WPML language switcher allowing me to choose between EN and ES on the .com website and also be linked to the .ru. Have I explained that well enough? I hope you understand what I mean.

Is this possible? Is it at all practicle? My thinking is that as my website is quite small with a small SEO budget, I would like to be able to carry the PR and domain authority between the EN and ES translations and then have the .ru site seperate.

          Thanks

        • Yes, you can certainly change the URL structure at any given time. Remember that all links in the content, pointing to other pages may need updating. You should be able to handle this with an SQL query on the posts table.

          • Ok, that sounds good, but what about my second question:

” I would really like to try to make my site work with the en and es translations in subdirectories of example.com, translated with WPML.

Would it then be possible for me to make a seperate site with the domain example.ru only in russian and then have the WPML language switcher allowing me to choose between EN and ES on the .com website and also be linked to the .ru. Basically, I am asking i there is some possible solution for me to have a .com with two subdirectories and a .ru all linked toegether somehow, even if it means running the .ru on a seperate WP install.

            Thanks

  11. I have a question pertaining to WPML;

Does this plugin “auto-translate” from one language to another, or does it provide additional fields for the site administration to input text of both languages?

What we need is the ability to change EVERY string of text on an entire site – including menu links, sidebar plugin contents, etc — anywhere there is a string of text at all — and add a ‘french version’.

We DO NOT want automatic language translation, as that tends to be very poor and inaccurate (especially for our local french dialect).

    Let me know!

    • WPML does not do any sort of automated translation. It’s a tool that lets you translate yourself or with translation services. You are right about automated translation. Not only that it’s not accurate, Google also forbids using it on public content (for several good reasons).

WPML lets you translate every piece of text in your site. This includes menus, texts in the WP admin, posts, custom fields, etc.

    • Yes, you can use Arabic with WPML. WPML comes pre-configured with over 40 languages and if you need any other language you can easily add it.

  12. Hi, I’m planning to buy WPML cms version, to create an Italian, English and Russian website.

But is it compatible with the Responsive theme by Templatic? They say they never tested it, do you have any feedback?

    Thank you and best regards!

    Marco

    • We would have to test it together with Templatic developers to tell if it’s compatible or not. We’ve done some compatibility work with them in the past. Templatic developers have access to WPML and are very welcome to get help from us whenever they need it.

  13. Hi,

I just bought the 79$ version through Paypal half an hour ago — still no password / download link sent…

How much time does it take??

    • I just resent your new-account email from my personal email address. The original one was sent immediately after you purchased, but might have ended up in your SPAM box.

      • Still didn’t receive anything… Spam box empty…

Maybe I had a typo in the email address??

Paypal TRX Id was 8B637165TA1363246 (please hide if you publish this post)

Email does work (at least, the one put in the Mail field on this form) as I successfully sent an email from Yahoo mail and received it.

        Thank

    • I’m not sure why you did not receive your new-account email. It might have landed in your SPAM box. I’ve reset your password and sent it again.

  14. Hi ,

i need to know how your language translation plugin works.

what i want is, if i post something on my back end in english , end user should see the post in their own language , if their browser not in english .

please let me know. because i already bought a plugin from some where, but its didn’t work .

that is why i want to make sure , your plugin will full fill my need.

    thanks.

    • WPML lets you translate your content in the WP admin. It includes browser language detection, which will automatically redirect visitors to content in their language. You can also (and should) include WPML’s language switcher in the site, which lets visitors choose their own language when browsing your site.

      Does this help?

  15. Hi, I just have a quick pre-sales question: is it possible to use this plugin to create (or help create) a “region” landing page. So basically a simple landing page that allows you to select the country you’re from and therefore determine the language? We won’t actually have separate sites for different countries, so the links just need to link through to the normal site, but appropriate language set based on their selection on the landing page.

    • WPML will add language information to all your site’s content. Normally, it will display only content in the current language. If you are looking to create only a welcome page that shows language selection, I think that it might be simpler to create it as a static WordPress page with links to the other pages that you have.

I’m not sure how it all works in your site. If you have content in different language, then you should definitely use WPML, but if pages don’t have languages, I’m not sure how WPML will work for you.

    • Well currently the site uses something totally different. But we’re thinking of moving to WPML. It looks like it does just what we want: allows us to easily create other-language versions of the English pages, posts, etc. I guess to put it simpler, I’m just wondering if there’s a way to link to the home page with a certain language set. Like can you link to http://domain.com/main/lang=dutch (where “/main/” is the permalink for a page) and it’ll set the WPML language to Dutch? Then we can make the landing page that just links to the actual home or “main” page, but with the language set based on the their selection on the landing page.

      • You can easily create a new page and set it as the ‘homepage’ of the site. On that page, you can include links to the real homepages, in different languages.

Please remember that this might cause Google to stop loving your site. Instead of seeing your juicy homepage, with all the good content, Google will just see a page that lets it select a language. Of course, that page will link to the real homepage, but that’s not really going to improve your search engine ranking.

You can build it with WPML, I’m only raising a concern about the possible SEO implications.
