'Language filtering for AJAX operations' >> 'Store a language cookie to support language filtering for AJAX' These settings are crucial for ensuring AJAX requests are handled correctly in a multilingual setup. Background of the issue:

Items are disappearing from the cart within seconds after being added.

Welcome to the WPML support forum. Before passing this thread to my colleague, I would like to share some suggestions and possible solutions for the issues you mentioned. Sorry for the late response because of the holidays. It is not normal here.
Yes, sometimes the issue doesn't happen. Under unknown circumstances an added item remains in the cart. But making a refresh or using another browser leads to a malfuncion as described.
The points/options you suggested have been already enabled.

Two different devices. You'll see also that with PayPal it's possible to add an item, but not with the "Add To Cart" Button.
We were able to reproduce the problem in the staging system. We have also set up access for you.
The issue occurs in every language other than the default.
German is default and it's working well. Never had this issue with German. We have also Italian and Spanish (hidden at the moment) configured and tests shows the same issue.

Our second-tier supporter says he cannot see this problem anymore. I also checked and added a product to the cart a few times, and I can't see this problem.
