This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The client is experiencing issues with their website translations into Italian. Despite being translated, the pages either display in Spanish (the source language), a mix of both Italian and Spanish, or are empty. This problem affects all pages that have been translated into Italian.

Solution:

We recommend the following steps to resolve the translation issues:

1. Increase the

MaxInputVars

in your PHP settings to 10000. For guidance on how to do this, please refer to this article.
2. Clear all types of caches, including server, browser, and plugin caches.
3. Open the Spanish page for editing and make a minor change in the content to refresh the translation settings.
4. Update the translation in WPML using the Advanced Translation Editor.

If these steps do not resolve the issue or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to have my site in Italian language. It seems to work well in English, French, and Spanish. I recently updated WordPress, WPML, Enfold, and The Events Calendar. I also added an additional language: Italian, which is translated from Spanish. I assigned Italian translations to a new user/translator. The issue can be seen on the page: hidden link

Symptoms:
Completed translations in Italian appear in Spanish (source language), a mix of both languages, or empty. Translations look good in WPML, but pages in Italian are not updated with Italian translations and we see pages in Spanish language. ALL PAGES that have been translated into Italian (translation is complete) appear in Spanish or a mix of Italian and Spanish or empty. There are a total of 9 pages translated so far.

Questions:
Why are completed Italian translations appearing in Spanish or a mix of both languages?
Why are some Italian pages completely empty despite being translated?

Hello,

Somehow, you have disconnected from the chat. So I moved the chat to a ticket. Please try the following steps and check if the issue still exists:

1) Increase the MaxInputVars in your PHP settings to 10000. You can refer to this article for guidance, or contact your hosting provider or system administrator:

2) Clear all types of caches (server, browser, plugin, etc.).

3) Edit the Spanish page: Open the page for editing and make a small content change to refresh the translation settings.

4) Update the translation in WPML using the Advanced Translation Editor.
