Some string translations are only shown in frontend when

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate a string for a WooCommerce Product Taxonomy to other languages, but the translation does not appear on the frontend unless 'Look for strings while pages are rendered' is active. For example, instead of 'Color', 'Farbe' (the original string) is displayed.
Solution:
We found that the

wordpress-en_US.l10n.php

file in your site's directory might be outdated. We recommend renaming or deleting this file located at

wp-content/languages/wpml/wordpress-en_US.l10n.php

. This action should allow the

wordpress-en_US.mo

file to be loaded instead, potentially resolving the issue.

If this solution does not work or seems irrelevant due to it being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

enrikB	Background of the issue: I am trying to translate a string, which is the name of a WooCommerce Product Taxonomy via string translation to 2 other languages. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link Symptoms: Some string translations are only shown in frontend when "Look for strings while pages are rendered" is active. Instead of seeing "Color", I still see "Farbe", which is the original string. Questions: Why are some string translations only shown when "Look for strings while pages are rendered" is active? How can I ensure the translated string "Color" appears instead of the original string "Farbe"?

Lauren WPML Supporter since 10/2015 Languages: English (English ) Timezone: America/New_York (GMT-04:00)	I tried to disable all non WPML plugins but the site now has a critical error. Can you check the debug log and let me know what the error is? Then, you can rename the plugins folder and that should allow you access to the site again. You can also include FTP access in your next reply so that I can do these steps on the beta site while I continue testing.

enrikB	Sorry for the confusion. They are correct but for the admin user "Enzler SSO" is not required, just the basic WP login.

Please update WooCommerce and all active WPML plugins to the latest versions. Let me know once that is done and I'll be happy to continue troubleshooting. Thanks!
