This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing issues with styles not appearing correctly on the translated pages of their website using WPML. This included differences in page and map styles across various sections such as the main page, 'places' section, and 'blog'. Solution: We recommended the following steps to address the issue: 1. Access the translated page and remove it. 2. Permanently delete the English language homepage from the trash bin. 3. Return to the primary language page and duplicate the English language page. 4. Navigate to the duplicated English language page and select "Translate Independently." 5. Return to the primary language page and translate it. This process should replicate the missing page options or stylings that weren't displaying correctly on the translated page.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am experiencing issues with the styles on the translated pages of my website using WPML. The main site is hidden link, and I have translations from Greek to English. There is no visible language switcher yet, please use /en to view translated pages.
Symptoms:
The styles on the translated pages do not appear correctly. This issue is evident across various sections of the site, including the main page, the 'places' section, and the 'blog'. Specific examples include differences in page and map styles between the original and translated versions.
Questions:
Why do the styles not appear correctly on the translated pages of my website?
How can I ensure that the styles are consistent across all languages on my site?
Here is the ticket. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Can you please explain the procedure for other pages?
1. how I delete a translated page
2. How I duplicate the page for translation
3. Where do I find the "Translate Independently" option
What about template pages? For example:
hidden link (archive page, GD 01 Archive)
hidden link (details page, we have about 180 of those pages, based on one template page: GD 04 Details)
1. Deleting a Translated Page:
To delete a translated page, access the backend of your WP site and navigate to the translated pages, as illustrated in the attached screenshot. Then, locate the page and delete the page. Also, the deleted page has to be permanently removed from the trash bin.
3. Locating the "Translate Independently" Option:
Once the page is duplicated, you should see an option to "Translate Independently," as depicted in the attached screenshot.
Regarding the stylings on your listing page hidden link , I haven't observed any styling issues when comparing it with the primary language hidden link
Regarding the archive page hidden link , I have resolved the layout issue using the customizer option hidden link . I've also attached a screenshot for your reference.
