This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing translation issues with the BuddyBoss App while using WPML. Specific words or phrases remain untranslated in the app, despite being correctly added in the String Translation module. Solution: 1. Update your WPML String Translation to the latest version, 3.2.17, to ensure you have the most recent bug fixes and improvements. You can update by visiting WPML installation guide. 2. Install the BuddyPress Multilingual glue plugin, which is necessary for translating BuddyBoss texts. This plugin can be found under your WPML account or through the Plugins section in your WordPress dashboard. For more details, visit BuddyPress Multilingual documentation. 3. Ensure that both the BuddyBoss Platform Pro and BuddyBoss Platform plugins are updated to their latest versions. Check for updates at BuddyBoss release notes. 4. If issues persist, consider contacting the author of BuddyBoss, as the app may not be retrieving the correct content.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am encountering translation issues with the BuddyBoss App while using WPML. Some words and phrases in the app are not being translated, even though I have verified that the translations are correctly added in the String Translation module. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
Symptoms:
Specific words or phrases (e.g., Hat sein/Ihr Profilbild geändert, kürzlich aktiv, neu erstellt) remain untranslated in the app. These phrases are present in the String Translation settings, and translations have been added for all relevant languages.
Questions:
Why are some translations not appearing in the BuddyBoss App despite being added in the String Translation module?
Is there a specific setting or step I might be missing to ensure all translations are applied in the app?
Please update your WPML String Translation to the latest version, 3.2.17, to take advantage of the recent bug fixes and improvements. This update may not solve your issue immediately, but it is essential for troubleshooting with the most current code available.
You can find the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on our website. Instructions for updating can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/.
If you do not see the updates available, please click the "Check for updates" button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.
I reviewed your screenshots, but I couldn't replicate the problem on your website. Could you please provide the exact steps to reproduce the issue?
Remember to back up your database before proceeding with the update.
Hi Andrey,
thank you for your response.
We are already using the version 3.2.17.
Our issue is not with the website, but with the BuddyBoss content on the website.
Our issue is with the BuddyBoss App.
Besides adding the "buddyboss" / community features to a wordpress website, buddyboss also offers an app, which users can install and login, using the credentials of their account and see the (buddyboss) content and functionality of the connected wordpress website. In our case that means, that users can login in the app and see the same content, messages and so on as on the website.
Now the issue: In the app the content is not translated and we are not able to make it work.
Here is an apk to install the app on your mobile device or on PC if you use an emulator such as bluestack.
To translate BuddyBoss texts, you'll need to install the BuddyPress Multilingual glue plugin, which I noticed is not currently installed on your website. You can find it under your wpml.org account or through Plugins → Add New → Commercial.
If you're still experiencing issues, I recommend contacting the author of BuddyBoss. We may not be able to debug the app, and it's possible that the app is not retrieving the correct content. BuddyBoss is already in contact with our compatibility team and should be able to resolve this matter.
Also, please update the BuddyBoss Platform Pro and BuddyBoss Platform plugins to their latest versions.
