This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with skipped translations on their website, where URLs, images, and texts revert to the original language instead of staying translated. Additionally, there are problems with forms disappearing after translation.
Solution:
1. Ensure consistent use of translation methods across the website. It is important not to mix manual translation methods with the WPML editor on the same page. For manual translation, refer to this documentation.
2. For translating media such as images, use the WPML Media Translation extension as outlined in this guide.
3. Disable object caching while performing translations to prevent issues.
4. If issues with forms persist after deciding on a translation method, consider opening a new support ticket specifically for that issue.

Please note that the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to correct a skipped translation on my website. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I want visuals, URLs, and texts to remain translated and not revert to the original language.

Symptoms:
Instead of translated URLs, I have URLs in the main language, and the same issue occurs with images and other types of content. WPML is also translating code tags that should skip forms. This problem did not exist 15 days ago.

Questions:
Is the issue due to new WordPress extensions conflicting with WPML?
Is WPML conflicting with other extensions that no longer work since the WPML update?

I'm contacting you because we've been experiencing major problems on our two sites adictiz.com and socialshaker.com for the past 15 days, linked to the translation of our sites. Our sites use WPML and Divi on WordPress. There have been two suspicious events for us:
- The recent addition of new plugins that could interfere with WPML.
- Recent WPML updates that could interfere with our existing plugins that were working fine before.
Description of a typical bug (even if they remain fairly random): For example, a link translated in a button, is re-translated the next day in the main language, its translation skips. The bugs we encounter are random and the corrections are skipped every time.
We've also had problems with WPML's back office (translations not being published, etc.).

Given this situation, which is having a huge impact on our business, we urgently need to hold a technical help to review the extensions and plugins that could be causing problems.

Hello,

1) How are you translating the page? Please explain.

2) If you re-transalte the page, does it fix the issue?

3) If you have object cache enabled on your website, please disable it while doing translations.

Let me know please.

Regards,
Drazen

On our home page :
- The “re-translation” solved the problem of the links that had jumped in the buttons (by going back to the translation back office on WPML in wordpress and revalidating the translation).

- However, we still have the problem with the images. To have translated versions of the images, we publish the translation, then modify the images for each language in the divi of each page. A few hours later, the image reverts to its original (untranslated) version. It's as if WPML were re-translating the image all by itself, to return it to the original version. Is there an image setting that needs to be made?

- We also have forms that skip. I've tried re-translating, revalidating the translation, and the form reappears, then skips again, see this screenshot. How can I prevent the translated version of the page from “breaking”?

- Have you seen the list of plugins? Are they all compatible with WPML?

Hello,

1) You can NOT do that and mix translation methods, you need to use only manual or only WPML editor. The manual method (WordPress editor) is described in our doc, if you wish to manually edit 2nd language pages, otherwise it will revert changes if you save page and still using WPML editor.

2) When using the WPML editor to add a different image for 2nd language, you can use the following approach:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

3) For forms, lets wait and first confirm what translation method you will use for the future, and then if the issue still happens, we can opena new ticket and check there.

4) I checked the plugin list, not all are officially compatible, but that does not mean they do not work fine with WPML, just we have not tested it.

Drazen

Thank you for your response.
Can you confirm that, for example, for a form page, instead of using the WPML editor, I should use the manual translation method, specifically for this page, to solve the problem? Can I have some pages that use the WPML editor and other pages that use the manual solution? If I've understood correctly, the important thing is not to mix methods on a page.

Hello,

thanks for getting back.

We limit 1 issue per ticket to keep things clear. This will help other users with similar problems to find solutions when searching the forum.

I have opened a new ticket for you further doubts about forms:

You can close this ticket if no more doubts about the ticket topic.

Manual translation by deactivating the WPNL module on the page solved the form problem.

Downloading the WPML Media translation extension solved the problem of images
