This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is trying to add Cebuano and Filipino as custom languages with automatic translation on their WordPress site. These languages are not supported by WPML's automatic translation feature, and the client is exploring if manual translation is the only option.
Solution:
We confirmed that Cebuano and Filipino are not supported by WPML's automatic translation as they are rarely requested and not included in the supported languages list, which can be viewed here: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs. For manual translation, we recommend duplicating pages from the default language and manually editing the content with translations obtained from third-party tools like Google Translate or ChatGPT. Detailed steps for this process can be found here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/. Additionally, instructions for setting up a language switcher are available here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
