Hello Support Team,

I'm encountering a problem with translating specific strings on my English page using Divi and WPML in WordPress. Despite identifying and translating these strings through WPML's String Translation module, they still appear in the original language on the live site.

I have already tried the following without success:

Rescanning the theme and plugins for strings via WPML.
Clearing the cache of my website and browser.

I'm attaching screenshots to illustrate:

The identified strings in WPML's String Translation.
The page where the translation does not reflect.

Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue and how to resolve it?
Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards, Alexander

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching us.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply.

I've checked your homepage in German Language and the footer is translated as shown in the attached screenshot. Did you figure it out on your own?

No, if you look at the very very bottom on the English pages, "Impressum" and "Datenschutzerklärung" remain untranslated. (Actually, at the moment you will see "Impressum-DE". I inserted the -DE to be certain that I can identify the right string in WPML).

Thanks for your reply.

I see the issue now. To fix this, I've translated this footer template hidden link and it works now. Please check. You might need to correct some translations on your own.

Dear Kor,

Thank you for updating the "Impressum" to "Legal Notice". However, I find myself needing further guidance, as I was not previously aware of the "Fußzeilenvorlage bearbeiten" page you mentioned. Regrettably, I'm also unable to locate it within WordPress on my own.

Initially, I had anticipated a workflow somewhat like this:

Navigate to Divi > Theme Builder > Global Footer to edit the German version.
Then proceed to WPML > String Translation, locate the specific string, translate it, and expect it to reflect across all English pages.
Should there be an alternative approach to achieve this, could you possibly direct me to a resource that elucidates the necessary steps, or could you provide a more detailed explanation of the process?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,
Ralph

Thanks for your reply.

You need to refer to the guide here https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer that explains about this.

All you need to do would be to locate the template here hidden link in the translation management and translate it.
