Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate content using WPML on hidden link, but the translation is stuck in progress. I have already assigned the translator.

Symptoms:
The system shows messages like 'German translation awaiting first available translator' and 'English translation assigned to local translator', but the translation job does not progress.

Questions:
Why is the translation progress stuck despite assigning a translator?
What additional steps can I take to resolve the translation issue?

Hi,

Welcome to WPML support. I will provide the first response until this ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues.

Would you please go to WPML > Translation Management > Translation Jobs and find the item in question and delete the translation job?

Then please re-send the page/content for translation.

If the issue persists, please go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and click the buttons below: (only click those buttons and do not touch the other buttons)

- Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
- Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE

If the issue persists, please go to WPML > Support > Advanced Translation Editor > Error Log and give us the top error you see ont he table.

Thanks.

Hello,

On our system it looks like you moved the live site once to localhost and then another time to a staging site. The issue is that all three sites are using the same site key.

WPML must be re-registered after each website migration or after changing the domain or domain provider.

1) Go to https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/

2) If the site URL is already registered, delete it from the list.

3) Now enter the site URL again. This creates a new site key.

4) Click on "Show key" and copy it.

5) Enter the key under Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered here, de-register it first.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

Thank you for your message!
I have followed your advice. The problem persists and the following message appears: “English translation assigned to local translator”. However, I haven't received any new errors in the Advanced Translation Editor error log. I've cleared the cache and synchronized.

Best,
Davood

Hi,

Are you not able too open this translation while being logged in as admin and clicking on the "Clockwork" icon?

---

If not, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the site to investigate the issue further.

The required fields are below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up the site and database before granting us access.

If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and site login details will be set to "PUBLIC". DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" here to create a copy of the site that I can use to investigate the issue further.

However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or copy of the website from your server for this purpose.

If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Please note that WPML must also be registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/.

If you are not able to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket.

The private reply form looks like this:

My apologies for the delay in answering, but I was not yet able to identify what is causing the issue on your site.

I will escalate a package of your site to the second-tier support for further revision and reach out to you again once I receive feedback.

Our second-tier support took an adjustment on your site, as it appears that there were two options related to the Advanced Translation not set correctly on the database.

Could you please verify if this issue is solved now?
