This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are working on a site under development and trying to use the automatic translation feature of WPML. However, the automatic translation toggle button is not clickable and remains in the off mode despite multiple attempts to click it.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you try the following steps:
1. Ensure that you have the "Advanced Translation Editor" option enabled in WPML > Settings.
2. Go to WPML > Translation Dashboard, select one post/page with few words, and send it to automatic translation.
After completing these steps, the toggle should become available. If it's still not, please send us a screenshot of the button to ensure we are referring to the same issue.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hello there,

Thank you for sharing the details. Make sure to have a full website backup and check the recommendations below:

1. First, make sure that you have the "Advanced Translation Editor" option enabled in WPML > Settings. Check the image.

2. After that, go to WPML > Translation Dashboard, select one post/page with few words and send it to automatic translation.

After that, the toggle should be available. If it's not, please send me a screenshot of it, so I'm sure we are talking about the same button. Thank you.

Hi,

Huge thanks for your support. Yes I did as you said. It works now. But I want to ask also an extra question too. I use WP for building LMS website. And I have a translated website. Is it possible to use those translations for my new website?

Sincerely.

Hey there,

Yes. You can import them (it's necessary to use the WPML Export and Import Extension), as explained here:

https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/

Or, you can connect the websites, so they share Translation Memory. Check more details here:

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/

https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-subscription-for-multiple-sites/

Let me know if this answers your question.
