This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing issues with link translations on your Divi site, where links on the Japanese and English pages are incorrectly pointing to the Dutch pages. Solution: We recommend taking the following steps to resolve the issue: 1. Ensure you have a full backup of your website. 2. Delete all String Translations that originate from posts or pages, as these should not be used for link translations. You can do this by selecting the string and clicking on "Delete selected Strings". 3. Remove any unused pages from your site. 4. Publish or delete any draft pages. 5. Empty the trash can in all languages to ensure there are no residual files causing issues. 6. Carefully review your pages, posts, and Global Elements to verify that all links have the correct URLs. 7. Check your translations to ensure all information is accurate and correctly linked. After completing these steps, if the issue persists, it might be easier to identify the underlying cause. Please check our related known issues and confirm that you have the latest versions of themes and plugins installed. If the problem still exists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket for further assistance. You can do so at our support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
On hidden link, I am trying to find the link translations in my translations. It is a Divi site, and I have already scanned the Linktargets.
Symptoms:
On the Japanese and English pages, the links are pointing to the Dutch pages.
Questions:
Why are the links on the Japanese and English pages pointing to the Dutch pages?
How can I find and correct the link translations in my translations?
Thank you for sharing the information. I checked your debug info and noticed that your website doesn't have the minimum memory required for WPML to work. WPML requires a memory limit of at least 128MB while 256MB is recommended. See https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/ for detailed information. You can set WP Memory Limit in your wp-config.php file by adding the following code:
for details. Increasing WP Memory may help improve the performance and sometimes also help resolving such issues.
After increasing the memory, pelase re-scan the Target Links in WPML > Settings. If the issue persists, please send me a page with an example of the issue.
No effect on the existing links. The links under the slider in the top of the homepage and behind the right side CTA's are not translated and I cannot see them in the (advanced translation editor) translation files
Thank you for sharing the results. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
Upon investigating that page, I found that some URLs is inside a blurb element, while others are inside a Carousel element. These elements, by default, are not fully translatable by WPML. To translate it, please make a full website backup and follow these steps:
1. Go to WPML > Settings > Custom XML Configuration and add this code:
2. Save;
3. Open the editor for the translation of the home page;
4. Search for the links you want to translate using the search field on top
5. Translate them and save.
That should do it 🙂 Let me know how it goes or if you need assistance.
I checked directly on your website and was able to find the URLs. Check the image.
As I said, it's necessary to directly search a part or the entire link using the search field inside the translation editor. Let me know if you can find it this way.
Where can I see this, and what shoold I type. I see another editor.... Also I am working on a small laptop on my vacation address and I cannot see the JPEG properly....
In the printscreens I sent you the right column does not work in the translations of the right column; f.e. on hidden link you can click in the right on 'Tax' an then it goes to hidden link
