This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The content of sub-category archive pages is not translating to German, although titles and URLs are translated correctly.
Solution:
Please make sure that translation of these pages, templates and layouts are 100% completed and published. If you're using Automatic Translation, then wait for these to complete.
Otherwise you can go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Select those templates and either translate manually (assign to a translator, or yourself) or send for automatic translation.
