Background of the issue:
I am trying to filter products on the category page of my WooCommerce site using the Barn2 product filter plugin. My site is hidden link.
On the main shop page the filter is showing every category and sub category no problem, but as if I go to the category page (accessories) it can not filter the subcategories within.
To test the issue i created a staging website, and disabled very plugin and then turned each one by one on till the problem occured.
As soon i turned on WPML Cms the problem occured.
Symptoms:
I am unable to filter subcategories on the product category page.
Questions:
How can I filter subcategory of products on the main product category page using the Barn2 product filter plugin?
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Hey Osama, that is indeed the result that was needed! How did you do it, and what was the cause of this error (I am curious)? So I can replicate it on the live website. Also when I am finishing the Dutch version and this problem occurs in English I can apply the same solution ?
Tried it, and now it does work for on the subcategory page. I will let it be for now, but now on the shop page itself the subcategories are shown in a separate dropdown. Also it is strange that this it is strange that I have to change the settings to make it work while if WPML CMS is disabled it works as intended.
Either way, I can live with this, but I hope the compatibility with Barn2 will be improved in the future.
Thank you for your reply. Please note that the Products Filter plugin is not officially compatible with WPML, so there might be some issues.
It would be very helpful if you consulted the Barn2 support team regarding these issues and let us know their findings and if we could help fix the issue.
Best regards,
Osama
